Your body is an amazing, intelligent structure that carries so much wisdom and knowledge. The more you listen to your body, the better your health, and the better your connection with your soul purpose.
Take a minute to place your right hand over your heart and your left hand over your stomach. Take 2-3 breaths here and then quietly ask your body – what do you need?
Listen for the response and tune in to the needs of your body. Do you need some water? Do you need to sit down? Do you need a hug?
Our body is always in communication with us, the trick is learning how to listen to our bodies and respond to the signs that we see, hear, smell, feel and taste.
When you are going through your day-to-day life or a period of stress, your body reacts by releasing energy. This is achieved through these 6 common bodily functions.
Here are 6 common signs that energy is being released from your body-
1.) Cracking Joints
If you find yourself cracking your joints regularly, it could be a sign that you body is trying to release pent up energy. Try to observe when you feel the need to crack your joints and if it coincides with your current emotional state.
Exercising and stretching is a great way to release stored energy, so if you find yourself cracking after a workout, this could also be another way that your body is releasing.
Yawning is not necessarily a sign that you are tired, in fact, yawning is actually a sign of release. As you yawn, you allow a rush of oxygen into your body which can recharge and restore your energy levels.
Certain animals have also been shown to release endorphins and other feel good brain chemicals after yawning. Yawning is also believed to release negative energy from the body and replace it with positive energy.
When you yawn, your ability to hear changes, which can also make you more open and susceptible to receiving intuitive or spirit guided messages.
The next time you yawn, try to be more aware of this and see if you notice anything different.
Burping is a very powerful form of releasing and helps to clear blocked and pent up energy from the solar plexus chakra, which is our creative center.
Burping is also a way of releasing nervous and anxious energy and can also help your body to “digest” and process new information or emotions.
When I am doing an intuitive reading or practicing Reiki, I will often feel the need to burp. I used to think it was weird/gross, but now I realize it just the way my body chooses to release energy.
4.) Watering Eyes
We all know how therapeutic it can feel to cry, but if you find your eyes watering this could also be another sign of release.
When your emotions get too overcharged or heated it can result in watery eyes. This is the body’s way of releasing and even “cooling down” your emotions.
It is interesting that watery eyes usually happen after a yawn or even a sneeze, which further supports the idea that the body is simply releasing stored energy.
Since the time of the plague it is customary to say “bless you” when someone sneezes, but is there more to this? In some ancient cultures, it was believed that sneezing was the body’s way of protecting the soul from negative or evil energy.
Sneezing is definitely a release on a physical level, but on an energetic level it can also help to clear out stuck and stagnant energy that is lingering, especially from the throat chakra area.
The most powerful release of all- the orgasm. Orgasms are powerful releases of energy and can help to activate and awaken all of your charkas. Orgasms can help to release pain, fear, negative emotions and replace it all with powerful, positive energy.
Orgasms also allow your entire body and energetic centers to open up, which can help to raise your vibration and levels of consciousness. Because orgasms open up your energy centers, it is always important to “release” with someone whom you love and trust.
