Calm your Fears with Flowers

flower essencesFeeling anxious? Stressed? Fearful? A few drops of flower essences under the tongue will soon put a stop to that. 

Flower essences are a homeopathic remedy that have been used for years to help alleviate a variety of emotional disorders.

Their use in ancient remedies goes back to the Ancient Indians, Chinese and Australian Aboriginals however they came to popularity in the mid 1900’s thanks to Dr. Edward Bach.

Flowers have long been adored for their beauty and aroma. They are given as gifts, as symbols of peace, of thanks and of romance.

Whether we realize or not, flowers stimulate our energy fields and help to facilitate healing and expression. They subconsciously make us feel joy and remind us how beautiful the world is.

Dr. Bach, who worked a lot with homeopathic medicine, realized the healing benefits of flowers and the impact that emotions had on health and was inspired to bring the two together. His first remedy involved impatiens and mimulus which have long been used in herbal remedies.

He created the ‘essence’ of these flowers by capturing their vibration in distilled water. To do this, he placed the flowers in a large bowl filled with spring water. The bowl was then left out in the sun for a few hours so the vibration could be captured.

Ever heard that water has a memory? When the flower is placed in the water, the vibration of the flower is ‘remembered’ by the water and infused to create a powerful vibrational essence.

Vibrational medicine contains frequencies beyond the physical plane that work on the energetic pathways of the body. These pathways or meridians are said to manifest dis-ease before our physical body even realizes it and many believe that healing needs to take place on this level to help restore harmony to the body.

Dr. Bach perceived illness as an imbalance between the physical and energetic body or the higher self and set out into the woods to connect with nature and find more flowers.

 “Every soul in incarnation is down here for the specific purpose of gaining experience and understanding, and of perfecting his personality towards those ideals laid down by the Soul. Let everyone remember that his Soul has laid down for him a particular work, and that unless he does this work, though perhaps not consciously, he will inevitably raise a conflict between his Soul and personality which of necessity reacts in the form of physical illness,” – Dr. Bach.

On his journey, Dr. Bach discovered 38 flowers and determined their vibrational frequencies. He found flowers for every possible emotional disturbance including fears, stress, anxiety and more.

Today, Bach’s flower essences are found in most pharmacies, health food stores and a recommended by both doctors and celebrities.

From the beginning of time, it has been long known that nature and mother earth holds the key to everything that we need to survive.

Flowers are part of that picture, helping to heal the energetic body which in turn helps to alleviate and reduce the incidence of physical diseases.

It is only now that Western medicine is beginning to see the correlation between emotions and disease however alternative and spiritual practitioners have know this for centuries.

Flower essences are a fantastic remedy for emotional upsets and work on a deeper, subconscious level to restore balance and harmony.
