Struggling to find your passion? Struggling to find that one thing that lights the flame of desire deep within your gut?

Passion is that thing that gets you going. It is that feeling that fills you with purpose, motivation and dedication.

Passions can change, morph and differ in intensity, but to some extent they always remain.

If you are struggling to find your passion, the good news is that you can stop looking, because you are not going to find your passion by “looking for it”.

Your passion is already inside of you. Your passion already runs through your veins and through your heart, you just need to align with it.

This is very similar to finding your purpose. There is no need to search endlessly for your purpose, it is simply inside of you.

But how do you connect to that passion that lives within? How do you even start?

It is easy, (I promise) and once you get the hang of it, you will be feeling passionate not just about one thing, but about your entire life in general.

Step #1: Passion is Connected to What You Love to Do

To first start connecting to your passion, you have to become aware of all the things that you love to do. Chances are, all the things that you love to do are also things that you may feel a passion for.

If you are feeling disconnected from the feeling of love, it may also help to think about the things that you get absorbed in. What things can make you lose track of time? These things may also have the ability to ignite your passion.

To help cement the process, start by making a list of 100 things that you love. Force yourself to get to 100, as this will help you to truly go into the depths of your soul.

(PS. When I did this exercise, the things that I first wrote on my list and the last few things that I wrote on my list felt the best, so aim to get to 100!)

Step #2: Be Proactive

Once you have narrowed in on the things that you love to do, it is time to go out there and actually do them! Take a class, join a workshop and get involved in the things that you enjoy doing.

From this, you will start to see your passions take shape and the rest will fall into place. More often than not, when you put yourself in the right vibration and mindset, your passion will just flow from inside of you freely and deeply. (No more work required from you!)

If you are still feeling stuck, get creative. Simply take the plunge and sign up for a random workshop- who knows where it may lead you?

The bottom line with this is that for your passion to be expressed from within, you have to actually get active and do something.

Step #3: Work on Feeling Passionate Everyday

In order to connect with that inner flame, you have to work on igniting it every single day. Even when pursuing your passion it is not going to feel like rainbows and butterflies all the time, so you have to work out a way to find passion in the little things everyday.

When you do this, it is also going to help you attract more and more passion into your life so your entire life feels led with passion.

There are a few ways that you can do this-

  1. Do several things that you like or enjoy doing everyday
  2. Make it a point to express gratitude and connect with the smaller passionate moments in your life (ie. a kiss, a blooming flower, a laugh…all of these things can stir passion)
  3. Get your body moving- when you can get energy flowing through your body it helps to keep your inner flame alive.

And yes, you can have more than one passion! If this is you, work out a way to bring all your passions together in your life- they don’t all have to be part of your career, but they should be part of your life.

By following these three steps you will be well on your way to reconnecting with that passionate flame that lives inside us all.
