7 of Disks, Failure, and The Tower

To many these might seem like dark and ominous cards. But for me they bring a lot of hope. They let me know we are ready to take risks, face the truth, and start something fresh on solid ground.

The 7 of Disks is a blue and black card covered in feathers and coins. The coins give the look of the eyes of an owl and they symbolize the wisdom that comes with this card.

No one wants to fail. And many of us are so scared of failure we never end up trying. The wisdom of the 7 of Disks is that we know that we will fail, we embrace the failure and we continue to try anyway.

When looking up quotes on success almost all of them have the word failure in them. That is because successful people know that failure is an essential part of succeeding. It is our failures that show us how much we are willing to try and they show us that we are the path to success.

Here are are some of my favorite success/failure quotes:

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently” -Henry Ford.

Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm” -Winston Churchill.

There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure” – Paulo Coelho.

The 7 of Disks wants you to know that if you just had a failure in your life or you encounter one this week, it is okay. It is okay to hurt and it is more than okay to fail. Allow yourself to feel the pain of things not working out how you expected but know that by trying, you succeeded.

Take what you learned from your loss and apply it to the next thing you try. All of your failures will make you smarter, stronger, and more resilient. I truly believe failure is a good thing. I see this as a lucky card, full of both bravery and intelligence.

The more positive light you surround around the idea of failure, the easier it will be to stand up each time you fall.

The Tower is a high energy card. It indicates a powerful time when you are seeing things for how they truly are.

The eye at the top of the card represents the all seeing eye, sometimes referred to as the third eye. You will be able to tap into your own third eye and see life with new clarity.

You start to notice that your foundation is not as strong as it could be. You see that you may have lied to yourself about something that needs to now change. The tower of your life is on shaky grounds and you need to tear things down in order to build back stronger.

The Tower usually points to relationships, either with yourself or someone else, where there has been a lack of truth.

Where have you or someone else not been truthful? How can you come clean about the reality of a situation? How can you embrace honesty this week and see things for how they truly are?

Just like the 7 of Disks, The Tower is a hopefully card for me. This card shows me that you are ready and courageous enough to face things you have not been ready to face in the past. It means you are ready to remove unstable ground and build a solid foundation that will support you in a much greater way for years to come.

Don’t fear these cards. Be open to their messages and allow their powerful energy bring fresh air into your life.

If you embrace these cards, you will move much closer to where you want to be.

Mantra for the week: I embrace failure because it means I am on the path to success. I am embrace truth because it means I am on the path to honesty and light.
