If you have been feeling bored in your current job and want to jump ship to something more aligned with your purpose and passion then a big YAY for you!!

SO many people go through life never even daring to ponder this question, so just the fact that you have is an amazing achievement that you should celebrate.

When you start to become clearer about your passions and what you want to be doing with your life, it can be tempting to think that you need to abandon everything else so you can focus, but that is not always true.

Many people feel that staying in a job just for the money can be soul crushing and while this can be true in certain cases, it doesn’t have to be if you don’t allow it to be.

If your money generating job is supporting you in your purpose and in your passions, then that job does serve a higher purpose and is just as important and just as relevant to your life.

Perhaps shifting your mindset and seeing the bigger picture of how this job is supporting you, will help you to feel more at peace with it.

Keeping your job as a source of financial support is sometimes a good move as it can allow you to focus on the passion and joy of what you want to do, rather than the stress of trying to make money from it.

When you are just getting started in your passion career, the early mornings, the late nights and the weekends are going to become your time to work on it. This is going to be a lot of work, but if it is really what you want then you will find the stamina.

Often when you are following your passion, working on it doesn’t feel like “work” and feels more enjoyable and relaxing. This mindset may also help you to find more energy and more stamina to keep juggling both, at least for some time.

So, that begs the question- when is it a good idea to quit your regular job and just focus on your passion?

The short answer is this- When your passion has showed consistent growth, when your passion is generating enough income for you to survive, that is usually a pretty good sign that you can let go of your regular job.

If you don’t feel comfortable financially, it is definitely going to impact on your passion and is going to bring desperate energy into the mix, which may dampen your creativity.

On the flip side however, there is also the scenario that you have stayed too long at your regular job, which is compromising the growth of your passion based job.

If you notice this happening, it may be time to take the plunge and just see what happens. If all else fails, you can always find another job. Trust and know that you will be supported either way.

Another scenario where you may just have to quit, is if your regular job is making you feel so miserable that it is blocking you from accessing your passionate and creative energies. If this is the case, you may need to consider shifting your mindset or quitting and finding something else to support you in the meantime.

Going after a job that is fulfilling and that you feel passionate about is the best gift you can give yourself in this life.

So keep nurturing and supporting this, keep fuelling your passions and believing in yourself, for that is the single most important thing you can do.
