How to Use Tapping or EFT to Relieve Energy Blocks

how to use tapping

Tapping or Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a blend of Chinese acupressure and psychology and is used to clear emotional traumas, phobias and stress from the energetic body.

When I first heard of tapping I thought it sounded kind of strange, how can simply tapping on a certain point of my body make me feel better?

But, being open minded to all healing techniques, I thought I would give it a try and I was pretty pleased with the results!

I think like all healing practices, it really comes down to your feelings of belief and open-mindedness. The more you believe something is going to work, the more likely you are to experience the benefits.

Anyway, after just a few minutes of tapping, I definitely felt lighter and calmer. I also felt a buzzing feeling while tapping, which made me feel as if something was definitely “working”.

Tapping or EFT is based off the Chinese Medicine principle of meridians. In Chinese Medicine, it is believed that there are many energy currents or meridians that flow through the body.

These meridians are responsible for sending energy around the body in order to keep it in a state of balance and harmony.

However, these meridians can often become blocked or sluggish due to stress, repressed emotions and trauma.

Over time, it is believed that blockages in the meridians can lead to physical disease and illness.

During a tapping session, you use your finger tips to tap on these meridians or acupressure points, to help stimulate the flow of energy again.

As you tap on these special meridian points, you also use mantras or affirmations to help bring to the surface any unresolved emotions or stress that may be contributing to energy blockages.

Most of us have some level of stress in our body and tapping is designed to help release it so you can feel energized, peaceful and in harmony with nature.

Tapping can be used to help relive pain, boost your mood, reduce stress, clear trauma, overcome phobias and can even aid in physical healing. In fact, many people have found success using tapping for pain management.

When you use this technique overtime, it is said to rewire the brain’s response to stress and change any negative conditioning that has developed due to traumas or childhood pains.

Here is the same video I watched to learn EFT, it’s a good video to get started with-

The first few times I started tapping, I simply used the mantra “I love and accept myself” while I was tapping the same points.

I feel like this is a good way to just start practicing the technique without worrying too much about getting into the deeper emotions.

As you become more comfortable with the technique, you can then choose an emotional trigger to focus on, such as a phobia or a situation that is causing you stress in your life.

It may be hard to know where to begin with this because often trauma or stress is buried deeply within the subconscious, but keep tapping and talking through your emotions and eventually you will have a breakthrough.

Part of the healing process with tapping is learning how to move through any resistance and give yourself permission to confront and release whatever emotions are stuck in your body.

For best results, start tapping on a daily basis. You may also want to keep a journal to record your progress or experiences.

Everyone will experience tapping differently, but why not give it a try for a few weeks and see if it makes a difference in your life?
