13 Year olds Inspirational Message After Losing Battle to Cancer

athena13 year old Athena Orchard has been making headlines today after a 3000 word note to her parents was revealed in her bedroom after she passed away from bone cancer.

Headlines are reporting that Athena’s bone cancer ended up taking over her entire body but not her spirit, this is of course because the body and the spirit are not the same thing.

The body is our vessel, our spirit is the essence that inhabits it and it seems that from the message that she left behind to her parents, Athena understood this as well.

Her father claims that Athena was extremely spiritual and often spoke of things that were way beyond what he could even comprehend. Her 3000 word secret note proves that somewhere in her journey, Athena achieved a level of enlightenment.

Athena’s message is inspirational, beautiful and reminds us all of some very important lessons. All souls have a purpose, and I believe it was Athena’s purpose to share this note with the world.

“The purpose of life is a life of purpose,” she wrote. “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.”

Her note has struck a cord with so many that news networks have been clamouring to get interviews with the family and to find out more about this 13 year olds life.

“You know name, not my story. You have heard what I’ve done, but not what I’ve been through. Don’t be quick to judge me, you only see what I choose to show you… you don’t know the truth. I just want to have fun and be happy without being judged.”

People have been perplexed with the fact that this 13 year old could be so wise, but on this spiritual journey, age is just a number. The soul inhabiting the physical body is age-less, time-less and forever.

Athena reached a place of consciousness that is available to us all.

“Happiness is a direction not a destination….Happiness depends upon ourselves. Maybe it’s not about the happy ending, maybe it’s about the story. Thank you for existing. Be happy, be free, believe, forever young.”

Athena also spoke a lot of love, and while some have commented that love was something she didn’t get to fully experience due to being so young, her words reveal much more-

Love is like glass, looks so lovely but it’s easy to shatter.

Love is rare, life is strange, nothing lasts and people change. Every day is special, so make the most of it, you could get a life ending illness tomorrow so make the most of every day. Life is only bad if you make it bad.

If someone loves you, then they wouldn’t let you slip away no matter how hard the situation is. Remember that life is full of ups and downs.

Never give up on something you can’t go a day without thinking about. I want to be that girl who makes the bad days better and the one that makes you say my life has changed since I met her!

Love is not about how much you say I love you – it’s about how much you can prove it’s true. Love is like the wind, you can feel it but you can’t see it. I’m waiting to fall in love with someone I can open my heart to.

Love is not about who you can see spending your future with, it’s about who you can’t see spending your life without… Life is a game for everyone but love is the prize. Only I can judge me.

Sometimes love hurts. Now I’m fighting myself.

There is definitely something in Athena’s message for us all.
