Breaking the Negative Patterns of your Subconscious Mind

We often don’t realize that our subconscious mind makes up around 80% of our brain power.

Our subconscious, that is the things that we don’t consciously think about, are shaped in our early years. In fact, many of our subconscious thought patterns are developed between the ages of 0-8 years old.

While this may suggest that we have little control over the shape of our subconscious mind, what we should focus on is that we always have the power to change our subconscious mind and re-wire it in order to break negative patterns.

It is a intricate thing to talk about subconscious thought patterns because everyone is so different and would have acquired different patterns in their lifetime however, learning to identify your negative patterns is the first step.

Ask yourself the following questions:

– Do you constantly sabotage your efforts?

– Are you quick to shut down ideas or moments of inspiration?

– Do you know or want better for yourself but find it hard to follow through or believe that you can?

– Are you afraid of failure or actually getting what it is that you want?

– Do you start off on projects but never complete them?

– Do you find yourself repeating the same “mistakes” your parents did?

All of these questions hold clues as to the state of your subconscious patterning.

Another easy and quick way to learn your subconscious mind is to keep a journal or tune in to your thoughts on a day to day basis.

Try to observe your thoughts without judgement or labels of “negative or positive”, instead focus on how these thoughts make you feel.

Our feelings are the way in which are subconscious mind really communicates with us, and if you are thinking thoughts that make you feel not so good about yourself, those thoughts need to be re-wired.

Once you have identified a few thought patterns that are no longer serving you, instead of getting caught up with them, change them.

There is always a way to change these thoughts into ones that uplift and make you feel good.

For example,

“I can’t do this because…..”

Change it to:

“I am going to use my strengths and focus on what I can do rather than what I can’t do.”

When you focus on what you can’t do, you begin to amplify the feelings of “can’t”, instead focus on what you can do, and those too will begin to multiply.

Even if you don’t necessarily believe that you can do something whole heartedly, the more you say it to yourself, the more it will begin to shape your reality.

While there is no sense in lying to yourself, sometimes when it comes to breaking patterns there needs to be a certain level of “fake it until you make it.”

Change “I can’t” into “I can” and pretty soon you will say “I did”- Unknown

Another example,

“I lack……”

Change it to:

“I have and am grateful for every opportunity and experience that comes my way.”

Practicing gratitude is the number one way to open the door to consciousness and to be content with all experiences in life.

You may be beginning to get the idea here when it comes to conscious re-wiring however, doing this is not enough, in fact, doing this is too difficult without learning how to calm the mind first.

When you learn to calm your mind, that is, when you learn to not engage with your thoughts, you hold a lot more power to change them.

Still your mind, allow some space to come between one thought and the next. At first the space may be small, but gradually with practice you will be able to grow that space.

Magic really exists in that space.

That space is where your subconscious mind can not only guide you but also help you attract whatever it is that your heart desires.

In that space you are one with the divine and can open your heart, mind, body and soul to infinite possibilities.

Creating this space is so important when it comes to growing in consciousness and re-wiring the brain as its through these windows that you begin to realize who you truly are.

You are not the voices in your head. You are not the labels you or others have placed on yourself. You are not even your name.

You are the space, observing and listening to all that is around you.

When you truly find that moment and that feeling for yourself, re-wiring your subconscious thought patterns is as easy as remembering to breathe every day.

It truly begins with wanting to change and then the rest will follow.
