Nikki’s Tarot Reading: April 2-8, 2018

tarot reading

Daughter of Swords and 8 of Wands, Swiftness

I have been feeling the urge to add another tarot deck to my readings for a while now. I mediated on what would be the right deck and I was called to the Wild Unknown tarot deck.

I was drawn to the imagery as well as the energy of the cards. I believe these cards will deepen and expand the messages we receive. I want to thank these news cards for entering my life.

I am so excited to use these cards in partnership with the Crowley Thoth deck I have been using for 14 years. I believe these two will work well together and support us on our spiritual path.

The first card I pulled for us is the Daughter of Swords. This is beautiful card. It has a white owl perched upon what looks like branch of a tree but instead is a sword laid sideways. There is a rainbow of small lights or stars coming through the darkness behind this wise bird.

The card points to a person who is honest and insightful. Someone who sees things quite clearly and does not miss a detail. The big eyes of the owl represent our ability to see all that lays before us.

However, the cards also point to the fact that we might be overwhelmed at times by our desire not to miss anything and to sometimes over-analyze. We can become too concerned with getting all the information and experiences the world has to offer and in turn become over stimulated.

We will never learn and experience all there is in one lifetime and we must embrace that.

The message of the card is to keep it simple and to cut to what is really important. We need to focus on a few things instead of feeling the need to acquire it all.

Spend sometime this week getting connected to yourself and listening to your desires. What is it that you truly need to see? What do you truly want to learn? How can we uncomplicate our lives?

When we know what we want, we can focus our minds and actions without getting overwhelmed. Cut out the unnecessary thoughts, belongings, or plans you have this week and see how light you feel.

The lovely connection between the Daughter of Swords and the 8 of Wands is the rainbow. While there is a rainbow of stars on the first card, there is a gorgeous full rainbow on the next.

The 8 of Wands, or Swiftness, is about a swift change of wind entering our lives. Resolutions are easily attained and you will feel a breath of fresh air.

There is also the sense of ‘being hit by lightening’ or having sudden inspiration. This could feel like divine energy entering our hearts or a new perspective suddenly becoming available to us.

I believe this change will be directly connect to the Daughter of Swords. We will feel inspired to let go of complicated thinking and enter into a more simple way of being.

We will declutter our minds and homes, no longer needing to know everything or have everything.

You might surprise yourself this week by letting go of things that once seemed so important and being able to embrace a more relaxed attitude.

When we know what truly matters, we do not sweat the small stuff. Let yourself embrace this new wind and enter into a more simple way of being.

Mantra for the week: I allow a swift flow of new energy to enter my life. I will focus my mind and heart on what matters most and let go of the rest.
