The Devil and The Sun

The Devil card brings its guidance this week. It comes up when we need to examine our habits. It asks us if we are happy with our current patterns and if we are making healthy decisions.

Are you doing things that once made you feel good but now feel like an unhealthy coping mechanism? Or on the flip side, are you not doing things that feel good but instead doing what others want you to do?

The Devil card points to two sides of the same coin, overdoing pleasure or overdoing perfection. If we are overdoing pleasure, we can start to feel like a slave to it. We avoid healthier activities and instead choose fast fixes. We might even be struggling with an addiction.

The Devil wants us to feel fully alive. When you are stuck in a pattern or behavior that isn’t good for you, you do not feel energized. You start to feel like you are simply going through the motions of life and not really living it.

Ask yourself if you are stuck in any unhealthy patterns. Look at what you do to manage stress. See if your habits enrich your life or steal from it.

If we are on the flip side, overdoing perfection, we might not have much pleasure in our life at all. We might be so focused on doing what others want, that we make little time for ourselves.

We could be hyper-focused on living by the book that we don’t allow ourselves to do what feels good. We want to achieve all our goals and make our loved ones proud but we might be letting our personal needs fall by the wayside.

The Devil card calls us to seek clarity in what we need to change. It wants us to feel balanced in our actions and free in our choices.

The Sun card is about embracing our senses and immersing ourselves in the moment. It tells us to intentionally breathe and take in some natural beauty. It says to ground ourselves in the here and now.

This is a happy card that calls us to feel deep gratitude. This card depicts a baby riding a horse while the Universe shines lovingly upon them. This card is about pureness, joy, and connecting to our inner child.

This level of joy might not feel natural. We might be caught up in heavier emotions. If embracing this energy doesn’t feel right, just take a moment to do something totally immersive instead.

Engage your senses by listening to some powerful music, or having a shower with some essential oils, or going on a walk somewhere beautiful. Focusing on your senses will take you out of your head for a moment and help you connect to this card.

The Sun card brings light to the ideas of life, death, and rebirth. It offers the gifts of presence, hope, and faith. This is a card of healing, especially when it comes to our emotions.

So when the Sun card pops up it signifies happiness, along with a new sense of safety, protection, and recovery. The Universe wants us to know it is holding us, even if we can’t feel at this moment.

Mantra for the Week: I make choices that bring more freedom to my life. I embrace my inner child and the Universe shines upon me.
