The Wheel of Fortune and The Moon

I am writing this article on a cold, stormy day, with the colors of the fall leaves and the rain drenching the city. While I feel cozy indoors, I can sense the energy of the season and the excitement of Halloween approaching.

This is one of the most potent times of the year, with Día de Muertos and All Hallows’ Eve celebrating the thinning of the veil between our world and the spirit realm. During this period, we can feel these vibrations, which some may describe as a spooky energy.

We know that this is a time to reflect on the cycles of death and rebirth, light and dark, and the power we all possess. It is a moment to confront our fears and examine what may be hidden within us. This is where Scorpio excels; it illuminates what needs to be revealed in the shadows.

Our two cards, The Wheel of Fortune and The Moon, share gifts that are available to us and wisdom that will support us as we move through this week.

The Wheel of Fortune shares the message of open possibilities. It wants us to know that our lives are full of potential and that we can go in any direction we choose. If you have been feeling stuck or questioning how to move forward, this card is for you.

We have the gifts, talents, and abilities to live the life we truly desire; we have only to say yes. Doubt and fear limit us, and the Wheel wants to examine their role in our choices.

It calls us to align our being with our path and to open our hearts to this energy. Allow the Universe to guide us where we need to go.

When the Wheel of Fortune comes up, it’s a time of powerful vibrations and poignant signs. Look out for symbols and messages calling you to your most authentic self.

The Wheel of Fortune also points to the illusion of control. Humans want to be the sole creators of our destiny. We want power over the world around us and to make sense of it all through reason and rules.

But Fortune calls us to connect to a more profound knowing. Nature shows us that we cannot control the world, but we can let it guide us. With this faith, we follow a path that leads us to tranquility. We connect to our instincts and intuition and are in flow with creation.

Step out of your thinking and into your heart. Do this by connecting with an animal or symbol that feels like your kindred spirit. Close your eyes and visualize it coming towards you. Take in its presence and listen to whatever message it sends you.

Our next card this week is The Moon. The Moon is number eighteen in the Major Arcana and depicts a mysterious nighttime scene. The card here shows Anubis, the jackal god of the Egyptians. Below is a scarab beetle holding a glowing moon, just in time for Halloween.

The scarab is a symbol of renewal and immortality, portraying the Moon’s association with natural cycles and rhythms. We are called to tap into the cycles and rhythms of our lives and to go with the flow.

When we resist the natural ups and downs, we find ourselves exhausted and out of sync. However, when we acknowledge that everything has both peaks and valleys, we become more grounded and at peace.

We know that after winter, spring always follows. And that all New Moons will lead into a Full Moon and back again. It is the same with our lives. There are times of plenty and times with less. The more comfortable we are with the cyclical nature of life, the more we can find the good in each moment.

The Moon card indicates a voyage to the centre of ourselves. When we journey inside, we don’t find flaws or weaknesses, but an unshakeable core that is steady through all the phases of life.

When we connect to ourselves through the Moon’s guidance, we find our psychic and intuitive abilities. Essential parts of ourselves are revealed when we open up to what is deep inside.

Mantra for the week: The cycles of nature inspire us to embrace the flow of life, inviting us to slow down and listen to the messages that surround us.
