The Scorpio New Moon on November 9th is one of the most powerful nights for inner growth.
As the sky goes black and the moon disappears from view, we are guided into the abyss of our own inner world. We are guided into our own darkness.
Do we dare confront what we find?
We all face trauma in this life. It doesn’t matter who we are or where we live, a certain amount of suffering is always inevitable on the human path.
But how we meet this suffering is what really counts and where our power lies.
We cannot always control our circumstances, but we can control how we react, how we show up, and how we are moved and transformed by whatever comes our way. That is our power. And this is what the Scorpio New Moon comes to remind us.
Whatever we are facing, there is a way we can empower ourselves and not be a victim of our circumstances.
There is a way we can rise up and embrace the current season of our lives.
But.
And there is a but here.
We cannot bypass the work with gratitude, platitudes, and a can-do attitude. Sure, these things help a lot, but we cannot use them as tools to bury our traumas.
We have to be willing to face them, sit with them, and ask them: What are you trying to show me?
This work is hard, deep, and is perhaps always ongoing. It can help if you do it with the assistance of a healer, therapist, or similar. But, that is what the Scorpio New Moon invites us to do.
The New Moon in Scorpio
The Scorpio wants to see us be transformed by our pain and suffering by confronting things, looking at things, and sitting with things.
What is something painful you are yet to address? Thoughts of not being good enough. Fears that keep you small. Wounds that gape. Physical ailments that debilitate you. Memories you have blacked out.
All these points of suffering, pain, and trauma live within us. And this is ok, but if we have buried them, not addressed them, or bypassed them, they are going to keep showing up in sneaky ways, altering the path of our lives and limiting who we can become.
Those fears and shames that sit hiding in the shadows, slowly motivate everything we do, and very often we fail to realize it.
The Scorpio New Moon is our opportunity to confront what is hidden, to look at our fears, traumas and insecurities, to sit with them, to name them, to release them, and not be beholden to them.
The Scorpio New Moon and our Past Karma
Although New Moons are typically about new beginnings and blank slates, there is an ending to a past karmic pattern that may come up for us.
We may feel motivated to finally let go of past baggage that we no longer need to carry. We may even find ourselves releasing or finding a deeper understanding in something from our past or family lineage.
If there is something you wish to release, setting an intention around it can be a powerful way to move through it. You don’t have to have all the answers, but if you set a clear intention and put it out to the Universe, the rest will align in divine timing.
The Scorpio New Moon with Mars and Jupiter
Mars and Jupiter are also heavily activated under this New Moon, prompting a new course of action to be taken. We may feel motivated to try again, try something new, or switch things up.
Jupiter is an amplifier, and Mars rules over our feelings of motivation, passion, and purpose, so these areas may be triggered under the Scorpio New Moon.
Pay attention to what draws you and how it makes you feel. Your senses will be heightened at this time, as the Scorpio Moon always thins the veil and helps us to see deeper and further. We may even be able to see around corners, into other timelines, or receive messages in our dreams.
The Scorpio New Moon Summary
The Scorpio New Moon is our chance to confront the darkness. To face our inner demons head-on and to really examine what keeps us afraid, makes us small, and allows us to feel stuck.
For most of us, thoughts of not feeling good enough, feeling unloved, fear of abandonment, fear of failure or success, and self-limiting beliefs are all part of our inner world, and the more we root them out and peer at what is behind them, the stronger and more limitless we can become.
Do the work, and it will pay off. Book that therapy session, start journaling, begin a meditation practice, start taking walks, start doing whatever is needed to connect yourself to You.
Getting to know yourself deeply, intimately – wounds and all- is always going to be helpful. It is always going to hold you. It is always going to be a source of support and strength. For at the end of the day, to know thyself is all we can truly and intimately know.
