Adjustment
Hello! I am back with the weekly tarot readings after taking time off for maternity leave. I am returning to the cards with tired eyes but I am full of love. As a mother, I see myself and the world differently now and feel the urge to make sure we use our precious time wisely.
This week, I am experimenting with only pulling one tarot card. This could hopefully allow us to meditate deeper on the card’s meaning and perhaps remember its message more clearly. With my postpartum brain, I need to edit what I take in so I can focus. I am sure many of you are the same with your busy lives that are inundated with information.
The card for the week is Adjustment, which I find quite fitting with my return. This card is about looking at our habits and seeing what we can adjust to create more balance. It is also about making sure our behaviors reflect our values and are authentic to who we are.
Adjustment is a Major Arcana card, the eighth card on the Fool’s Journey. it represents a significant place on our path. It is most connected to the sign of Virgo, as it notes our longing for balance and healing.
Adjustment features Lady Justice. Her eyes are covered with a blindfold and she holds the scales of the balance between good and evil and right and wrong. Lady Justice is the supreme judge. She is connected to the idea of Karma and that everything we do has a positive or negative effect on our future.
She wants us all to live well and treat each other well. She wants our actions to be just and good. She will give back to us what we put out, so she calls us to put out positivity, generosity, and love.
Under the influence of this card, we reflect and adjust our behaviors. We evaluate where we have stagnant energy, are not growing, and are unhealthy. We seek to come into alignment with our values and make today’s actions create the future we desire.
If you value time with your friends and family, you might make more time for that. If you value nature, you might spend more time outside. If you value personal health, you might incorporate more cooking into your life.
When you are clear on your values you will see where you need to adjust to feel more balanced and peaceful. Take time to look at your habits and routines this week. Are your actions in alignment with your heart?
As a new mom, I think more about how I spend my time than ever before. I want to make sure what I am doing holds value to me and my family, especially if it means spending time away from my son. If it fills me up, it feels worth it. But if it doesn’t, it might not have a place in my life anymore.
If your behaviors do not reflect your desires and goals, you can make the necessary changes. You can create more harmony in your life. You have control of your actions and can be more intentional with where you focus your energy.
When we live in alignment with ourselves we will attract more of what we are putting out in the world. When our actions are loving, joyful, creative, peaceful, and healthy we will start to feel that way inside and attract more of that back to us.
I hope you can meditate on the Adjustment card this week and allow its energy to enter your world. It will support you as you reflect on your values and take steps to create more harmony in your life.
Mantra for the week: I am in balanced alignment with my heart.
