Ace of Cups and Five of Cups
This week we enter a new month and on August 30, we have a Super Full Moon in the sign of Pisces. This is our second full moon in the month of August, making it a Blue Moon. This rare moon will allow for a big release, and the new month’s beginning will allow for a fresh start.
Let’s first talk about the Five of Cups. This card comes up in times of emotional sensitivity. The five empty cups on the card represent feelings of depletion.
Our disappointment reflected in this card can come in many forms. Disappointment with ourselves, others, or the world itself. Maybe we are disappointed with certain people in our lives. Maybe we had expectations and things did not turn out the way we wanted. Maybe we feel overwhelmed by all the suffering in the world.
The Five of Cups asks you to feel your feelings. It’s okay to feel disappointed, it is part of the human experience. Let yourself cry, write down your thoughts, and grieve. The Full Moon in Pisces will aid you in this work.
Many of us try to stay positive and not let heavier emotions creep in. But by keeping them at bay, we are making our load heavier. This week it is time to have a release.
Permit yourself to feel sad. You don’t need to sugarcoat what is happening for you or the world. You can feel sadness and be okay at the same time.
By grieving and letting go, we will make room for new things to enter our world. When we do the work to feel our emotions, we make space for the universe to send us fresh energy.
Next, let’s connect with the Ace of Cups. This is a wildly energetic and powerful card. This card amplifies whatever is in our hearts and brings us loving vibrations.
The Ace of Cups often indicates the beginning of a new creative project, a significant relationship, or even the conception of a child. It represents the path to something that will bring us great joy and fulfillment.
Since this Ace is also in the suit of Cups, we will be in alignment with our emotions and feelings this week. After we do the release of the Five of Cups, we are open to emotional satisfaction and connection to ourselves and others.
At a spiritual level, the Ace of Cups points to the Fool’s Journey. The cup depicted on the card is thought to represent the Holy Grail, or in Pagan terms, the Cauldron of Cerridwen. This cup or cauldron is a granter of wishes and a source of inspiration.
When we reach our Holy Grail, we have come to a place where we can enact our passions and dreams. We arrive at the place where our fantasies can become our reality.
Ask yourself: How can you take the next step in your evolution? How can you share your loving energy? What has been in the works that is ready to be out in the world?
Channel the Ace of Cups and use it to sweeten your relationships and new ventures. Think about where you hold power and where you want to grow, the universe is listening.
Mantra for the week: I give myself permission to grieve and feel pain. When my heart is open, I bring more love to the world.
