Nikki’s Weekly Tarot Reading: May 4-10, 2026

Death and Four of Pentacles

This marks the third consecutive week we’ve drawn the Death card, which is extremely rare for our readings. It indicates that we are undergoing a significant process of letting go and transitioning into a new phase of life. To gain further insights, let’s first examine the Four of Pentacles and see what wisdom it provides in connection to the Death card.

In the featured deck, the Four of Pentacles represents a scarcity mentality and a clinging to our resources out of fear. We feel inadequate and are hesitant to let go of what we have.

Embracing our authentic selves and sharing generously enhances our strength rather than diminishing it, fostering a genuine flow of connection that enriches our relationships and experiences.

Our strength with this card comes from our deep connection to ourselves, our community, and the planet. It wants us to know our existence is more extensive than just ourselves, and the universe supports us deeply.

The Four of Pentacles reminds me of the importance of our homes and the idea of creating a sanctuary within our living spaces. This card embodies themes of home, family, and ancestry. It’s essential for us to feel safe in our surroundings, but we should also avoid isolating ourselves or staying in our comfort zone too long.

From a place of strength, we can launch into the world and build a bigger and bolder life. And a solid foundation is essential to the sustainability of our growth.

As it relates to the Death card, it wants us to know that we are brave and we don’t have to hide, isolate, or retreat during times of change or growth. We can step out into the unknown, and we’re strong enough to handle anything that comes our way.

Many of us are afraid of change and anything new. We are fearful because we crave permanence and consistency. We want to hold on to whatever we have, even if it’s time to let it go.

But in Tarot, Death is full of beauty and is a deeply powerful card. When it shows up, we are ready to say goodbye to things that cause us pain or have run their course. We are prepared to have a profound metamorphosis.

With Death, we ask ourselves: What needs to be transformed? What must we let go of to thrive? What must die so we can live more fully?

By connecting with our inner voice, we will hear what needs to be released. Whether it is a toxic person, a stagnant job, or a habit we’ve outgrown, we are ready to let go.

With Death, there is always some pain. We must acknowledge that there will be grief in letting go, even if we release something that no longer serves us.

When you connect with what needs to be transformed, honor this by doing a releasing ceremony or ritual. Write what you want to let go of on a piece of paper, then give the paper its own transformation.

This could include ripping it up and letting it burn, burying it in the earth, or simply saying the words on the page out loud. Whatever you choose, this ceremony will help honor the process of death. If you haven’t done this yet, let this third week with the Death card be your sign to do so.

Mantra for the week: Even through times of change, I am rooted in strength and grounded in love.
