The Hanged Man and 7 of Disks
With the energy of the cosmos changing and pulsing, we have familiar cards to keep us grounded. We received the 7 of Disks for the second time in two weeks and The Hanged Man brings a deeper message of contemplation.
The Hanged Man is an interesting card because it can bring up feelings of fear that something unpleasant is about to happen. But instead, the card is here to share a message of how to handle challenging situations.
This is a card about letting go and our need to hold on to certain outcomes. It is about practicing the art of non-attachment. With the U.S. election this week, this will be a difficult but wise practice to adopt.
The Hanged Man also points to roadblocks. Something is not working, we have hit a dead-end and we need to reevaluate what we are doing.
We cannot move forward in the direction we are faced. Whether a personal relationship, a job, a lifestyle, or the systems and structures of our world; something cannot move forward.
What comes to mind when you hear this? Take some time this week to think about your roadblocks. Whatever is your first thought is usually the right one.
Can we salvage things or do we need to part ways? Can we adjust or do we need to let go and move on completely?
Whenever we have to change or let go of something, we can feel like we failed. That is where the 7 of Disks comes in. It shows us how to work with this energy and have a healthy perspective.
The 7 of Disks indicates a period of contemplation and unknowing. We don’t quite know how to see our journey up to this point. Was all our work worth it? Are we a success or have we failed?
We are questioning how we see ourselves and we wonder if we shouldn’t be experiencing more rewards for all our hard work.
This card wants us to know that rewards are coming. They will be waiting for us to recognize them.
The rewards might not be in ways we have envisioned them. We need to open our hearts and minds to new ways of seeing success. It can be big or small, but there will be hope and success all around.
Some questions to contemplate when we receive the 7 of Disks are: How can we grow and change so that we can be more successful? How can we be kinder to ourselves when we do fail? And how can we manage our fears so they don’t lead to inaction?
Working with these questions will lead us to more strength and wisdom as we move forward. They will help us build a more loving relationship with ourselves.
Mantra for the week: I practice the skill of letting go. My perspectives are shifting and I am seeing success in new ways.
