On February 19th, the Virgo Full Moon will be big and bright in the sky, and the closest it will be to Earth all year.

The Moon has a magnetic energy that effects the tides of the ocean and the tides that ebb and flow within us as well. Many people report feeling restless or have trouble sleeping whenever a Full Moon is near.

Full Moons are also linked to heightened emotions, and can stir and pull us in many directions. In fact, Full Moons have the ability to draw things out of us, which is why we may also feel tired and lethargic.

We can use the magnetism of the Full Moon to our advantage by drawing out and releasing things that no longer serve us. We can also use this energy to draw things that we desire towards us as well.

Seeing as this is the closest Moon of the year, its energy will be perfect for releasing and manifesting. This ritual combines both of these elements, and also takes into consideration other cosmic forces surrounding this earthy Virgo Moon as well.

This ritual is best done from February 18th-March 4th, 2019

Virgo Full Moon Detoxification Ritual 2019

You will need:

  • Smudging tool of choice
  • 1 candle
  • 1 black sheet of paper
  • Large bowl of water
  • Glass of drinking water

1.) Begin by smudging your aura and surroundings using your smudging tool of choice. As always, start with your aura first and then move to your surroundings.

As you smudge your aura recite the following-

“I cleanse and let go of all my troubles. My burdens are lifted, my heart feels pure. I am one with the light. I am healed and restored. The light follows me wherever I go, it radiates from my face, my heart, and my belly. I am a beacon of light for myself, for others, and the world.”

As you smudge your surroundings recite the following on repeat-

“My space is cleansed, my space is safe. Only love and light may enter.”

2.) Have your ritual ingredients out in front of you and light your candle. To prepare for this ritual, I highly recommend doing my cosmic guided meditation or you can simply meditate on your own for 10 minutes.

3.) Take your black sheet of paper and hold it against your stomach. This black sheet of paper is going to be the conduit for all the things you are going to release. The color black absorbs, and so we are going to use it to absorb all the things you want to release.

4.) Hold the paper against your stomach and repeat the following-

“Black paper, black paper, take away my pains, take away my struggles, and my blocks. Absorb yourself from my stomach into the paper. Release me from my pain, fear, anxiety, and allow me to be free.”

Take a deep breath in and on your exhale imagine you are blowing air out from your belly into the paper. Be sure to get all of that energy out into the paper.

5.) Shake your body just to release any built-up energies and then move the paper to your heart center. Place the paper on your heart center and repeat the following-

“Black paper, black paper take away my heartache, my worries, and my fears. Absorb yourself from my heart into the paper. Release me from the blockages that keep me from loving freely and opening to the world.”

Take a deep breath and again on your exhale, imagine you are blowing air out from your heart center and into the paper. Be sure to get all of that energy out into the paper.

6.) Once again, shake off your hands, maybe move around, and then return with the paper on your forehead or third eye. Repeat this process again-

“Black paper, black paper, take away all that blocks me from seeing the truth. Absorb yourself from my third eye into the paper. Release me from all the conditioning, the fear, and the beliefs that prevent me from trusting my intuition.”

Take a deep breath and again on your exhale, imagine you are blowing air out from your third eye into the paper. Be sure to get all of that energy out into the paper.

7.) Stand up and shake out the energy. Now take your black sheet of paper and fold it three times. Get your bowl of water and place your paper into it so it’s completely submerged.

8.) Press your finger down on the paper to keep it rising from the top, as you do, recite the following-

“My worries, my anxieties, my pains, my heartaches, and my blocks are released and purged by the light of the Moon. They are gone and erased, they are submerged, they are transformed. I am light and free. I am protected. It is safe to be me. The paper has taken them, the water has healed them, my work here is done.

Take 3 deep breaths and you continue to hold the paper on the bottom of the bowl. On each breath, really feel the work that you have done, feel the release and the space you have now created.

9.) Now take your glass of water and hold it in both your hands. Think about what you want to bring into your life. It can be something tangible or emotions like love, forgiveness, and so on. Holding the glass of water, recite the following or feel free to say whatever you feel in the moment-

“I charge this water with light and loving energy. I charge this water with peace and kindness. Each sip of this water heals and nourishes my body and gives me the power to still my mind, forgive and love openly. I charge this water to give me the strength to create (INSERT) and to manifest (INSERT). I charge this water to bring (INSERT) my way. On each sip, what I desire will be moving closer and closer to me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

10.) Drink almost all the water in the glass, but leave one sip at the bottom. This remaining water is an offering to the earth, to the Moon, and the Universe. Pour this sip of water in the garden, in the ocean, or just anywhere outside. As you do, say a quiet thank you.

11.) Optional Step: before closing the ritual use the energy of the Moon and your intuition to try my Full Moon Reading.

12.) To close the ritual, snuff out the candle and discard the black paper and the water straight away. If you are feeling extra sensitive, smudge your aura one more time and recite the following- “I am cleansed. I am protected. I am light and love.”
