Queen of Wands and Death
This week marks the beginning of Virgo Season and our second Eclipse Season of the year. It’s a powerful time to deepen our connection with our bodies, the earth, and our inner truth. We are encouraged to expand and grow while allowing the universe to guide us.
Our first card this week is the Queen of Wands. She represents the fire inside all of us, the energy that makes us loving, loyal friends and worthy adversaries.
The Queen speaks to the passionate energy that bubbles up when we see injustices and to the warrior in us who has endured the very worst of days and emerged stronger.
She has remarkable toughness and a strong sense of conviction. Always ready to express her thoughts and stand by her beliefs, her past has shaped her into a powerful and opinionated person. However, she lacks diplomatic skills, and her intensity can sometimes be overwhelming, which may turn people away.
This week, we need to be mindful of our communication, as it can be even more challenging. We should apply the lessons of the Queen of Wands to practice compassionate expression.
Some questions we might ask are: How can we be both strong and warm at the same time? How can we share our passion without alienating others? How can we have compassion for those we disagree with while still holding them accountable?
Let the fire push you to create change through understanding and grace. The kindness in your communication and actions will make them so much more impactful.
This week’s card is Death. To welcome a new season, we must let go of certain things. However, our initial reaction to the Death card can often be fear. We may feel apprehensive about confronting the message that this card brings.
We should not be afraid. Death represents not an ending, but a beginning; it serves as a perfect guide for transitioning to a new astrological sign.
Death is about letting go of the baggage we carry that makes our journey more difficult. With this card, we let go of the past and begin anew with a lighter load.
Death brings about a powerful transformation. For some, this change can feel disruptive, while for others, it can be refreshing.
Many of us are afraid of change and anything new. We are fearful because we crave permanence and consistency. We want to hold on to whatever we have, even if it’s time to let it go.
But in Tarot, Death is full of beauty and is a deeply powerful card. When it shows up, we are ready to say goodbye to things causing us pain. We are prepared to have a profound metamorphosis.
With death, we ask ourselves: What needs transformation? What must we let go of to thrive? What must die so we can live more fully?
Connecting to our inner voice, we will hear what needs to be released. Whether it is a toxic person, a stagnant job, or a habit we’ve outgrown, we are ready to let go.
With death, there is always some pain. We must acknowledge that there will be grief in letting go, even if we release something that no longer serves us.
When you connect with what needs to be transformed, honor this by doing a releasing ceremony or ritual. Write what you want to let go of on a piece of paper, then give the paper its own transformation.
This could include ripping it up and letting it burn, burying it in the earth, or simply saying the words on the page out loud. Whatever you choose, this ceremony will help honor the process of death.
Our cards encourage strength while letting go of what no longer serves us. We are invited to embrace our powerful spirit and release behaviors that do not align with our hearts.
Mantra for the week: My energy radiates warmth and strength. I embrace the process of transformation in my life.
