Intuitive Astrology: Black Moon Lilith, Makemake, and the Lunar Nodes August -December 2024

black moon lilith and makemake

Black Moon Lilith, Makemake, and the South Lunar Node will all be traveling together in Libra for the remainder of 2024. Let’s explore what this will bring up and how it will guide us to navigate the upcoming Eclipse Season…

The Lunar Nodes and the Eclipse Cycles

The Lunar Nodes represent a sacred point calculated between the Sun and the Moon. Following the Lunar Nodes allows us to follow the Eclipse cycle, a highly transformative cycle that can shape several months around it.

As we move towards the final Eclipse cycle of 2024, which spans from September to October, I couldn’t help but notice the presence of both Black Moon Lilith and Makemake, hovering close to the South Lunar Node.

The Lunar Nodes are sensitive points, so having both Black Moon Lilith and the Makemake close by means the Universe wants us to pay attention to these energies. We will also find that the upcoming Eclipses will trigger more of these themes.

Let’s first look into the energetic signatures of Black Moon Lilith and Makemake independently, so we can understand how we can experience their energy:

Black Moon Lilith

Black Moon Lilith is also a sacred point calculated between the Earth and the Moon. Black Moon Lilith is know as the Goddess of the Underworld, she holds a dark feminine energy that can trigger our deepest fears, desires, and everything in between. She represents the destruction and the chaos, the death that is needed to rebirth things into their truer and more powerful form.

Black Moon Lilith is a rebel and a trouble-maker, she unearths all that needs to be thrown in the fire for the rebirth to occur.

While she is a darker energy to work with – and one that can be quite uncomfortable at times, her presence in our lives reminds us to own our shame, face up to our darkest thoughts, and confront our self-sabotaging ways.

Black Moon Lilith has currently been touring through the sign of Libra, which means we may be feeling her energy concentrated around our relationships and who we keep closest to us. We may be observing how certain interactions make us feel or whom we wish to be close with.

We may have realizations or awakenings around the people closest to us or perhaps how we are choosing to show up in partnership with others.

Makemake

Makemake is a Fertility God and the creator of Rapa Nui, or Easter Island. MakeMake represents the sacred and spiritual creations we birth into this world. MakeMake created an island, but we, too, can create our own sanctuary.

Makemake reminds us of the power we have to create our reality and the environment we live in. He gives us the powers need to birth and create all that is part of our soul.

Makemake is also heavily connected to our ancestral traditions and our ancestral homeland. He reminds us to honor where we have come from and to hold sacred the wisdom that is passed to us from the lands of our origins.

When Makemake’s energy is strong in our lives and in the cosmic skies, he reminds us to come back to our environment. He calls for us to nurture our surroundings, to create a safe space, and to honor the wisdom that we have within.

Makemake wants us to birth our creations, but in order to do this, we need to feel connected to our environment and create a personal sanctuary that feels good to us.

Makemake is also currently in the sign of Libra, which means we may be feeling its themes in our relationships and the aesthetics of our surroundings. We may feel the need to surround ourselves with people who conjure feelings of safety and support, and we may feel the need to update our home environments to evoke more peace.

Black Moon Lilith and Makemake

Black Moon Lilith is definitely the more dominant personality between these two cosmic bodies, so her energy is the one we are likely to feel the most strongly. Having said that however, Black Moon Lilith is subtle in her work until she isn’t!

Usually, it is only once the fire is burning that we are able to look back and see what led to its creation and what needs to be burned.

Makemake is a gentler energy, but perhaps where we need to focus our attention. Perhaps when we focus on the messaging of Makemake, we will find it easier to navigate the potency of Black Moon Lilith.

These two cosmic bodies traveling together are essentially asking us to rebirth ourselves and have that rebirth then trickle down into our relationships and who we choose to surround ourselves with.

Black Moon Lilith wants us to burn away all that is no longer serving, and Makemake wants us to create a sanctuary that honors our ancestors and evokes a sense of safety and peace.

Makemake wants us to create a sanctuary from the dust and rubble that Black Moon Lilith has left behind.

Black Moon Lilith, Makemake, and the Lunar Nodes

Black Moon Lilith and Makemake are traveling alongside the South Lunar Node and opposing the North Lunar Node. This configuration means their energy is very active under the upcoming Eclipses on September 17th, 2024, and October 2nd, 2024.

It is on these dates that we may feel the inner workings of Black Moon Lilith and Makemake.

The fact they are conjunct the South Node also indicates that perhaps something from our past is what is being called to step into the light. There is something we need to cleanse and remove from our past in order to step forward into our new potential.

The South Node represents endings, closure, and a need to let go, whereas the North Node is all about the future, our potential, and where we are heading.

Explore how these themes may manifest for you under the Eclipses, but also over the coming months. Black Moon Lilith and Makemake will be close in our cosmic skies until the end of 2024, not just under the Eclipses.
