On the 10th day of the 10th month, under the 10/10 gateway, we begin a new lunar cycle in the sign of Libra.
Having a New Moon on the auspicious 10/10 will activate our manifestation abilities, allowing us to set intentions with greater power. This makes the Libra New Moon one of the best points in our year to set goals, create a vision board, and to send out vibrations of what we wish to attract into the Universe.
The Number 10 represents the blank slate (0) but also the starting foundation (1) of what we are building. It is a time not just to create, explore, and imagine, but to actually take actionable steps in the direction of our goals and dreams.
The position of Saturn tied in with this New Moon is also supporting this, and is helping us to step up to the plate and to take responsibility for the life we wish to create. If things are not going well for us, if we want to make a change, this New Moon beckons us to take that first step.
We don’t have to know exactly where we are going, but with a strong intention and the willingness to shift, the Universe will lend a beautiful supporting hand.
Working with the Libra New Moon
Libra is a sign that represents balance, fairness, justice, and order. It encourages us to see the beauty in form. It is also a sign that is heavily connected to partnerships.
Ruled by Venus, a Libra New Moon can always bring challenges or new opportunities when it comes to our relationships. We may feel this extra strongly this year, as Venus is currently in retrograde.
Venus in retrograde, along with the strength of the Libra New Moon, will be challenging our relationship dynamics and our heart space. We may be feeling more vulnerable, or we may find ourselves coming head to head with uncomfortable situations that are challenging how we think and feel about ourselves and others.
Venus Retrograde is a time when blocks and barriers around our heart are exposed, so recognize that if complicated situations or people creep into your life at this time, they truly are just teachers, helping us to recognize where we need to lean in and love ourselves more.
If you are experiencing a challenge in your relationships, ask yourself: How can I love myself more through this situation?
Sometimes it also helps to think about someone you really love and then imagine them in the same situation as you. What advice would you give to them? Very often, this is the message and advice we need to hear from ourselves too.
The energy of Libra also allows us to walk in the shoes of others. Sometimes it can be helpful to simmer down our own egos and to think of things from other people’s perspective.
Under a Libra New Moon, this exercise can be easier for us to try and can bring new insights and deeper awareness that we may not have considered before.
Working with or through judgment can also come up under a Libra New Moon.
Very often we find ourselves judging others or feeling that others are judging us, but if we free ourselves from the grip of judgment with the power of self-love and self-acceptance, we can have an easier time with whatever is going on for us.
Of course, this is a lot easier said than done, but the first step is releasing judgment toward others. Usually, once you do this and just accept people as they are, and where they are (even if you don’t like it), a positive shift can take place.
The Libra New Moon and the Work of the Goddess
This Libra lunation is ruled by Venus, but Vesta, Chariklo, Eris, and Pallas, four asteroid Goddesses, are also active, adding to the surge of feminine energy.
When feminine energy is strong in our cosmic sky, we are supported to create, listen, and to feel our way through. We may not have all the answers delivered to us under this New Moon, but we are being encouraged to get still with our intuition and to trust in the wisdom that it holds.
While it is easy to think of feminine energy as just being soft, it is truly dynamic and can shift and morph more easily than masculine energy. Feminine energy can be what it needs to be, so if strength is something we need to conjure up under this New Moon, then it is on offer for us. If softness is what we need to conjure, then that is available too.
Vesta and Pallas are the strongest Goddess energies on offer aside from Venus, and they are both connected to nourishment, something we all need to give more of to ourselves.
Vesta and Pallas are also powerful reminders of moving with the seasons of our lives too. Bringing acceptance to the season we are in can help to empower us.
Like the seasons of Mother Earth, nothing lasts forever, so soak up where you stand right now, and know that is where you are called to right now.
Strong Venus energy can also help us to stand in our truth and to connect with our inner fire. Our inner fire is fuelled by our passions, motivation, and feelings of purpose. Our inner fire helps us to get out of bed in the morning and to feel excited about our day.
If your inner fire could use some nourishment, set some intentions around this under the Libra New Moon. The strong Goddess energy will be a support and will help you to feel settled, accepting, and aligned with however your inner flame is presenting.
Remember, we don’t have to be charged up all the time, but working in accordance with our own cycles and rhythms, being comfortable in our bodies and with our own timelines are all powerful and forgotten ways we can channel the feminine.
