Weekly Tarot

Prince of Disks and Ten of Cups

This week, we will experience a Full Moon in Libra on April 12/13. This is an opportunity for growth and reflection. The cards are here to guide us as we navigate the coming days, offering gentle support to help us focus our energy and make the most of this moment.

The first card, the Prince of Disks, embodies wisdom but also carries a sense of heaviness. It reflects the difficult times we have faced and the ongoing obstacles that continue to affect us. I can certainly relate to the feelings this card evokes.

We are not light and breezy when making decisions or taking steps forward. We have experienced deep pain and loss, and it informs our behavior.

The Prince of Disks sits on a cumbersome chariot pulled by a large but determined bull. At his back are boulders of different sizes that push into his skin.

The boulders represent our past and the pain we have experienced. We cannot let go of the hard times behind us, so they sit as we carry them along our path.

Our past can weigh us down or serve as valuable experiences that lead to greater wisdom, strength, and compassion. Although it’s not easy, approaching these moments with this shift in perspective can offer us new insights.

This card reflects our personal and collective pains. While we have faced many challenges that feel burdensome, these experiences have ultimately helped us become more aware and fostered a deeper sense of love within ourselves and toward others.

We have developed a greater sense of empathy and awareness about life. We can now feel and observe things we couldn’t before. We know how to support people in ways that truly meet their needs. Additionally, we can recognize deceptive and corrupt actions more clearly.

The Prince of Disks is typically slow-moving and takes time to make decisions, allowing for deep consideration of their next step.

The pains from their past have provided them with wisdom and insights. They apply this knowledge to consider various scenarios and potential pitfalls.

With the Prince of Disks, we tend to make wiser choices. We learn from our past mistakes and prioritize our relationship with ourselves.

We often find ourselves in a pattern of indecision or overthinking. Our past experiences can make us overly critical, leading us to believe that inaction is the safest choice. It’s important to be aware of any behaviors that might cause us to stall. Even if we need to take extra time, we must continue to make decisions.

Our next card is the Ten of Cups. This card points to a deep contentment and satisfaction. Our desire for more has been satiated, and we are feeling perfectly full.

Satiety is a stronger and more stable feeling than that of happiness, which is often wavering and situation-dependent. The Ten of Cups is connected to a groundedness from hard work and a commitment to our values.

Satisfaction arises when we acknowledge our emotional needs and align our actions with our true selves. This contentment awaits us when we invest in the well-being of our spiritual core, the resilient part of us that remains steadfast.

The feeling of wanting ‘more’ is always tempting us. What is the next goal, the next thing to buy, the next place to go, or the next thing we need? We are constantly bombarded with what we should desire next.

The energy of the Ten of Cups encourages us to recognize temptations but take a step back before acting. We resist the urge to act on impulse; we avoid purchasing items we don’t need, are not driven by the fear of missing out, and refrain from setting a new goal immediately after achieving one.

We feel like we can move through the world with a deeper sense of contentment. Things come toward us, and we can say yes or no with ease. We are satisfied with the present moment and our present selves.

This is a feeling you can work towards each day by tapping into what is good and lovely in the moment. Through awareness and mindfulness, we realize how much we already have. We don’t feel the tug for more; we are perfectly satisfied.

Under this Full Moon, what can you do to embody the energy of the Ten of Cups this week? How can you connect with your spiritual center? How can you embrace the feeling of satisfaction?

Mantra for the week:  I possess all I need, and I embrace obstacles as my teachers.
