The Knight of Cups and The Sun

We start off the week with a Super Full Moon in Scorpio. This moon points to a transformation and to sharing light with parts of us that have remained in the dark. As we navigate this moon and start a new month, we have two cards to help guide us.

Our first card is the Knight of Cups. He is reaching towards a glowing chalice in the clouds. His determination is powerful and his energy is focused. His wings rise him up and nothing can stop him from his path.

This card speaks to those times when we become obsessed with productivity and reaching our end goal, the energy that can be present during Aries season. This card also warns against attaching our worth as a person with achievements and calls us to the grounding energy of Taurus season instead.

If we are too narrow in our vision or want things to look perfect, we remove the chance for spontaneity or creativity. If we have tunnel vision, there is less room for the Universe to intervene or for us to notice the bigger world around us.

The Knight of Cups calls us to dream without forgetting to open our eyes to all the possibilities. It wants us to remember that things don’t always look as we expected. It’s okay if we veer off the path and it’s good to let go of controlling the outcomes.

This is also a way to work with the energy of the Scorpio Super Full Moon We can work on releasing specific expectations and our need to control. We can set our intentions but allow room for the path to unfold in a myriad of ways.

This will also aid in our ability to step into our power because our need to control is usually wrapped up in fear. The Scorpio Full Moon calls us to shine a light on our fears by sending them loving energy.

Our next card is the Sun. This card is about embracing our senses and immersing ourselves in the moment. It calls us to breathe and spend time in nature. It says to ground ourselves in the here and now.

This is a joyful card that depicts rays of light flowing out into the Universe. Within the rays are all the signs of the Zodiac and the figures in the middle are frolicking on a hillside. Innocence, happiness, and connecting to our inner child are all aspects of this card.

The level of joy The Sun card holds might not feel natural. We might be caught up in heavier emotions. If embracing this energy doesn’t feel right for you, take some time to do a mindful practice instead.

Engage your senses by listening to some of your favorite music, go on a walk somewhere beautiful, or cook a meal with bold flavors. Focusing on your senses will take you out of your head and help you connect to the power of The Sun.

The Sun card reflects on the ideas of life, death, and rebirth, which are also themes of the Scorpio Full Moon as well. The card offers the gifts of presence, hope, and faith. This is a card of healing, especially when it comes to our emotions.

The Sun card is pointing us to a path of loving our inner child and coming to a place of safety, protection, and recovery. The Universe wants us to know it is holding us, even in the moments when we feel far removed from its love.

Mantra for the week: The Universe lovingly calls me back to the present moment. I let go of my need for control and embrace the unknown.
