Eight of Cups and Six of Cups

This week, we have a Full Moon in Aries on September 29, followed by the start of October. Through both these occurrences, we are granted the opportunity for a fresh perspective and bold action. We connect to our inner fire and listen to the nurturing wisdom of the cards.

Our first guide this week is the Eight of Cups. This card often points to a moment of stagnation, a time when we might feel unable to generate the enthusiasm for life we want.

But this card should not be viewed negatively. The Eight of Cups asks that we don’t judge ourselves too harshly or hyper-focus on what we’re lacking. Instead, we should accept things as they are and have compassion for ourselves.

The Eight of Cups challenges us to shift our way of thinking. It wants us to stop focusing on the finish line and where we want to be in the future. Instead, it asks us to be present for our journey and where we are now. It wants us to be curious about ourselves and enjoy the small, lovely experiences along the way.

On the card, the moon has a faraway look in her eyes. She is questioning her connection to the life she has created and longs to feel vibrant and inspired. She wants to choose a path that is more authentic and connected to her true soul.

Under the Eight of Cups, we slow down to listen to ourselves and the Universe. We become quiet and focus on our real emotions just below the surface.

This card calls us to start a journey on a new path. One that is full of acceptance of our imperfections and feels deep and genuine. This path is messier, and the road is winding, but when we take it we feel fully alive.

How can you embody the Eight of Cups this week? How can you let go of the need for perfection? How can you choose a more present and authentic path? And how can you enjoy the small, lovely moments along the way?

Our second card this week is the Six of Cups, and it emphasizes the message of enjoying the here and now. This card wants us to know that pleasure is our birthright and that we deserve to feel good.

The cups depicted here are full of beautiful flowers floating above a peaceful pastoral scene. There are warm and powerful vibrations radiating from this card.

This card speaks to being in touch with our sensuality. It asks us to first be aware of what brings us pleasure so we can then share that knowledge with others.

Spend time this week listening to your body and to your desires. If you have a romantic partner, share your personal desires with them. If you are single, open yourself up and connect to what feels good and is life-giving to you.

If you have blocks around feeling pleasure, examine those beliefs this week. Ask yourself why you don’t make room for pleasure in your life and see if you can change that. Because remember, pleasure is your birthright. And as long as we are not causing harm to others, we should go after what brings us joy.

Create intentions this week on how you will invite authenticity and pleasure into your life. Use the power of the Full Moon and the new month to support your wishes.

Mantra for the week: I accept the place I find myself in. I discover peace and pleasure in each day.
