Nikki’s Weekly Tarot Reading: December 15-21, 2025

Weekly Tarot

The cards pictured are from the ‘Rosa Obscura’ deck by Orla Bird.

King of Pentacles and Four of Pentacles

This week, we will experience the last New Moon of the year, which is in the sign of Sagittarius. This is a perfect time to set intentions for the upcoming lunar cycle, which will last until 2026. We have two cards to help us navigate and work with the energy of this phase.

Our first card, the King of Pentacles, serves as our grounding card. It reminds us of our core strength and encourages us to use our resources to remain centered.

We sometimes struggle to separate our identity from our experiences. However, we are not the chaotic events occurring in our world; we are those experiencing them.

We choose how to ride the waves. We can allow circumstances to take control, or we can skillfully navigate the path with awareness. The King of Pentacles encourages the latter approach.

This King embodies patience and understands the importance of timing. He knows when to step back and wait to make decisions, especially when anxiety compels an immediate response.

Making responsible choices now leads to greater freedom later. It’s not about instant gratification or giving in to fears, but rather making decisions that benefit us in the long term.

The King of Pentacles invites us to question: How can you begin to distinguish your identity from your experiences? Are you able to observe your reactions and enhance your self-awareness? Can you make choices driven by love rather than fear?

Take time to establish boundaries, practice centering, and cultivate mindfulness to connect with the King of Pentacles. He will support us all this week as we set our intentions.

In the featured deck, the Four of Pentacles represents a scarcity mentality and a clinging to our resources out of fear. We feel inadequate and are hesitant to let go of what we have.

When we withhold sharing our true selves and possessions, we diminish our strength. However, if we allow ourselves to open up, we will enable a more natural flow of connection.

Our strength with this card comes from our deep connection to ourselves, our community, and the planet. It wants us to know our existence is more extensive than just ourselves, and the universe supports us deeply.

The Four of Pentacles reminds me of the importance of our homes and the idea of creating a sanctuary within our living spaces. This card embodies themes of home, family, and ancestry. It’s essential for us to feel safe in our surroundings, but we should also avoid isolating ourselves.

From this place of strength, we can launch into the world and build a bigger and bolder life. And a solid foundation is essential to the sustainability of our growth.

Mantra for the week: Even when the world is turbulent, I am rooted in strength and grounded in love.
