8 of Swords, Interference and The Heirophant
There is something interfering with the natural flow of energy. We are stuck and there is block. This interference may be causing you to slow down, feel nervous, or lose focus.
The 8 of Swords wants us to check in with ourselves and see where this block is coming from.
Is it in our bodies? Do we feel places where there is tension and built up energy? Or is it coming from outside of ourselves? Is someone blocking us from reaching our potential or adding toxic energy to our lives?
Spend some time thinking about where your blocks are in this moment.
In traditional Chinese culture, Qi is the vital life force that flows through everything. When we are healthy it is believed to flow freely through the left and right sides of our bodies. If we have a block in energy, we might get sick, have muscle pain, or feel anxious and depressed.
A way to remedy this is to visualize energy flowing freely throughout your body without any blockages. Make sure you drink plenty of water and move your body in ways that feel good as well. That will help with any interferences the 8 of Swords might be pointing to this week.
If you feel there is a block outside of yourself or a door you are trying to open just won’t budge, don’t fret!
The 8 of Swords wants us instead to spend time on things that come easy and natural. Do not put all your energy into the places that are challenging.
The cards wants us to back away from these places for now and focus instead where the forces are moving freely. This will bring more free flowing energy into our lives.
No use hammering away on that blocked door if it will not open. Once we back away, then we can gain perspective and connect to places that feel lighter.
The Hierophant is a helpful companion for Interference. It is a card that calls for us to seek out a spiritual practice or teacher to help us reach a higher energetic level.
Spend some time this week with the words of wise leaders, writers, and mentors and learn from what they know about working through blockages.
There are so many brilliant people that have come before us that have figured out peaceful ways of living. We do not have to reinvent the wheel or go through it alone. They have found some of the answers to life’s questions and we can gain from their experiences.
One of my favorite spiritual writers is Pema Chödrön. I came upon her when I was dealing with a very challenging time and was in the need of a teacher. Her books and lectures continue to be a source of support and guidance in my life.
Be open this week to a teacher or mentor entering your life. It could be in the form of a book or an actual person full of wisdom and leadership. The Hierophant calls us to open ourselves to this person and to allow their words to pierce our souls.
Mantra for the week: I allow energy to freely flow through me and I ask the Universe to send me a teacher. I am open in both my heart and mind.
