Nikki’s Weekly Tarot Reading: January 26-February 1, 2026

Weekly Tarot

The cards pictured are from Uusi’s ‘Pagan Otherworlds’ deck.

Eight of Cups and Knight of Swords

This week, we continue our journey through Aquarius Season while experiencing some significant astrological events. On Monday, January 26, Neptune enters Aries for the first time since 1875, where it will remain for the next 14 years. We will conclude the week with a Full Moon in Leo, marking the start of the first eclipse season of 2026. Our cards explore this powerful energy and provide guidance on how to harness its vibrations.

Our first guide this week is the Eight of Cups. This card often points to a feeling of stagnation, a time when we might be unable to generate the enthusiasm for life we want.

But this card should not be viewed negatively. The Eight of Cups asks that we not judge ourselves too harshly or hyper-focus on what we’re lacking. Instead, we should accept things as they are and have compassion for ourselves.

The Eight of Cups challenges us to shift our way of thinking. It wants us to stop focusing on the finish line and where we want to be in the future. Instead, it asks us to be present for our journey and where we are now. It wants us to be curious about ourselves and enjoy the small, lovely experiences along the way.

On the card, the moon has a faraway look in her eyes. She is questioning her connection to the life she has created and longs to feel vibrant and inspired. She wants to choose a path that is more authentic and in line with her true soul.

Under the Eight of Cups, we slow down to listen to ourselves and the Universe. We become quiet and focus on our real emotions below the surface.

Let’s write down what we need or feel is missing in our lives, along with the steps we can take to achieve this. But at the same time, we should consider shifting our mindset to be more present and find the good in each day. How can we invite more joy into our lives right now, even if our current situation isn’t what we ultimately desire?

The Eight of Cups calls us to start a journey on a new path. One that is full of acceptance of our imperfections and feels deep and genuine. This path is messier, and the road is winding, but when we take it, we feel fully alive.

Our next card is the Knight of Swords, and it is all about a sharp and clear mind. It allows us to regain focus when we feel distracted and clouded. The bright energy it carries will help us make some much-needed next steps.

The elements of fire and air in this card give us a quick and powerful boost to get things done. It will even help us find solutions to problems that have felt too tricky or complicated.

The Knight of Swords encourages us to tackle tasks we have been postponing. These unfinished errands or projects can increase stress levels and contribute to negative thoughts. Accomplishing some of these things will help us feel better and more confident.

What steps can you take this week to alleviate your stress? How can you sharpen your focus and dive into your work? And, is there one task you can eliminate from your to-do list?

Keeping a clean, organized space can boost our spirits. Working toward our goals and gaining clarity can result in a more positive outlook overall.

Mantra for the week: I discover peace and pleasure in each day. I feel focused and motivated.
