The Hanged Man and Eight of Cups
We are stepping into a cosmically powerful time with the start of Eclipse Season and a Super Blood Moon Eclipse in Sagittarius on May 26th. The energy of this Eclipse has been in the air for a while but will make its true impact this week. Our two cards help us navigate these vibrations in the days to come.
Our first card is The Hanged Man. This card may bring up feelings of fear that something unpleasant is about to happen. But instead, it is here to share a message of how to handle challenging situations, especially under this Eclipse.
The Hanged Man points to roadblocks. Something is not working, we have hit a dead-end, and we need to reevaluate what we are doing.
We cannot move forward in the direction we are faced. Whether it’s a personal relationship, a job, a lifestyle, or the systems and structures of our world, something cannot move forward.
What comes to mind when you hear this? Take some time this week to think about the roadblocks in your life. Whatever is your first thought is usually the right one.
Ask yourself these questions: Can we salvage things or do we need to part ways? Can we adjust or do we need to let go and move on completely?
When we need to let go of something we can feel like we failed. We experience emotional pain or even a deep resistance to making the change. Our resistance can then cause us to be stuck or suspended like The Hanged Man.
This card also points to our need to hold on to certain outcomes. It calls us to practice the art of non-attachment. If we are feeling an intense desire for something to go a particular way, this card asks us to examine why.
The Eclipse will shine a bright light on your resistance and what needs to be let go. If you have been putting off an important next step or holding on to a cycle that needs to end, it will come to the surface this week.
Much like The Hanged Man, the Eight of Cups often points to a period of stagnation. A time where we feel tired and unable to generate positive energy.
And just like The Hanged Man, this card should not be viewed with fear. It’s here to offer its truth and wisdom and help us see the light through the dark.
The Eight of Cups asks us to go deeper. It wants us to stop focusing on the finish line, where we want to be in the future, but instead, focus on the journey. Be curious about yourself and enjoy the small and lovely moments along the way.
On the card, the moon has eyes with a faraway look. She is questioning her connection to the life she has created and she longs to feel vibrant and inspired. She wants to choose a path that is more authentic and connected to her true soul.
Under the Eight of Cups and the Eclipse, we are slowing down to listen to ourselves and the Universe. We become quiet and focus on our real feelings just below the surface.
Eclipse Season and the cards call us to start a journey on a new path. One that is full of acceptance of our imperfections and feels deep and genuine. This path is messier and the road is winding, but when we take it we feel fully alive.
Mantra for the week: Through the process of letting go, I connect to what matters and serves the highest good.
