Virgo New Moon Astrology September 2026

The Virgo New Moon arrives September 11, bringing a new beginning and a chance to wipe our energetic slate clean.

Use the energy of the dark moon to get intentional with what you are doing and how you are moving through your day. Use the grounded, earthy energy from Virgo to get organized and create routine and structure.

Working with the lunation this way will help us open to the new beginnings on offer and step into greater alignment with our mind, body, and soul.

The New Moon in Virgo

When we begin a new lunar cycle under the presence of the Virgin Goddess, we may feel called to cleanse our auric field, organize our space, and set actionable steps that can help us leap forward.

The Virgin Goddess represents strength and sovereignty. The Goddess doesn’t need anything or anyone outside of herself; she recognizes all that lives within is her true power. She has found through her life experience that the only thing she can really know intimately is herself.

We are invited to channel some of this energy under the September 2027 Virgo New Moon. We are invited to go within and to listen to the wisdom that arises.

In fact, you can even take a brief pause while you are reading this…Place your hand on your heart, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and listen to what comes up. Is there clutter in your mind? Anxiety in your heart? Just observe and then breathe. Offer all that you do not want to the Goddess Moon, and then be intentional with what you will fill in the space.

The Virgo New Moon and Nessus

Nessus, an asteroid, is active under this New Moon, casting a shadow for us to observe. Vibrationally, Nessus links the energy of Saturn and Pluto, reminding us of our responsibilities (Saturn) and the ever-evolving cycle of life and death (Pluto).

Nessus has also been linked to revenge, deceit, and painful transformation, where we are pushed to confront our dark side and the shadow self that dwells there.

Nessus is definitely not an easy energy to work with. It challenges us to confront ourselves and where we are responsible for contributing to our pain, sorrow, and trauma. It wants us to face how we push narratives, project our way, and move with ego.

Sometimes, it is confronting to do this work. Other times, it is hard to know where to even begin. We all think we are innocent players in this game of life, but we are all consciously or subconsciously painting our reality onto the world we experience. We are as much a part of our own pain and suffering as our joys and triumphs, and sometimes that can be hard to reconcile with.

This is not to say that we shame or blame ourselves, or even feel guilty for what we are presenting to the energetic field. Doing so only creates more negativity and judgment, which our world surely does not need.

Instead, we can recognize that we are all here to learn, we are all here to grow, and we are all truly just walking each other home. We are not better than or worse than because of what happens in our lives. On the spiritual plane, we are equal. We are all just students of life and as much in awe of the mysteries of it all.

Use the vibrations of Nessus to observe how you may be contributing to your own pain and suffering through repeating the same patterns or projecting onto yourself and others. Recognize if you are fighting to prove yourself, moving with revenge as your motivator, or feeling ashamed of who you are. Sit with these uncomfortable things and then use the bridge of Nessus to evolve.

Nessus helps us to shift to a place of transformation, where we can be reborn into a new version of ourselves. One that is free from blame, judgment, shame, and self-proving. One that is whole, open, and ready to embrace the lessons that life has to teach us.

The Virgo New Moon in Practice

While there are shadow forces around this New Moon, bringing some painful realizations and hard truths to the surface, there is an opportunity here to reshape the direction we are moving in.

If we can identify where we are perhaps wasting our energy in trying to prove, judge, or get revenge; if we can perhaps identify where we are getting caught up in our ego and in anxieties, we can make a shift. We can bring meaningful change under this New Moon.

To use the astrology of the Virgo New Moon in practice, do a self-check-in. What are you spending your energy on? Why are you pursuing what you are pursuing? Where are you looking for a different outcome but just taking the same approach over and over? Confront how you are using the energy of your day mentally and physically, and see where change is needed.

Once you’ve identified what no longer supports your highest growth, become intentional about your next steps. You don’t have to have it all figured out; just be intentional about your actions, words, and choices.

Move with intention, and you will open to the new beginnings offered by our Virgin Goddess New Moon.
