Ending a Soulmate Relationship

ending a soulmate relationship

Ending a soulmate relationship can be both a daunting and a relieving feeling.

Soul mates are sent to awaken us and to expose our shadows so we can evolve to a higher state of consciousness and when that journey starts coming to an end, it can be difficult to let go.

Usually both souls in the relationship start to feel off-sorts and that something is no longer clicking, this is because usually once the revealing and healing work has been done, your souls know on a subconscious level that it is time to move on.

Many will resist this phase and many will call in this phase too early. In fact, it can be tempting to call on the ending too early because often soul mate relationships bring up many personal and emotional challenges.

It is always your choice to stay in the work or to leave, but know that soulmate relationships that end too soon, often see a reconnection down the track, either physically or on a spiritual or emotional level.

Sometimes you may even attract a different person who has an uncanny resemblance or the same soul lessons seem to reappear in other relationships.

The important thing to remember is that when a relationship is truly up, especially a soulmate relationship, there is nothing you can really do to change the course of the Divine. All you can do is surrender and ask to be carried forward with grace and ease.

Ending any type of relationship is difficult, but with a soulmate there is usually another level of spiritual separation that can be challenging to deal with.

If you are struggling to deal with leaving your soul mate, or you are feeling the ending approach, here are some suggestions:

1.) Recharge the Etheric Cords

We are all connected to each other through etheric or energetic cords however, the cords are strongest between those we have a relationship with.

You and your soulmate likely have a very strong energetic cord but when issues arise, it can cloud the energy of the cord and cause communication issues and the inability to see each others points of view.

Spend some time visualising the energetic cord with your soul mate and imagine it being cleared and cleaned with a golden light.

By doing so, you can strengthen your communication and understanding between each other in order to connect with the truth of how you are both feeling.

2.) Activate the Crown and Heart Chakras

Whatever issues are causing you grief can be sent loving and healing energy, especially if you are finding it hard to let go.

To do this, imagine a beautiful pink light coming down into your crown chakra through to your heart chakra. See the light getting stronger and softening any pains or issues that seem to be holding you back from moving forward.

While visualising the light, continue to also ask the Divine to help all situations to be resolved with love and ease.

3.) Ask to See Your Soul Contract

Everyone has a soul contract and your soulmate is most likely a part of that contract. In a meditation, you can ask your Spirit Guides or angels to show you your contract and the lessons that the two of you were destined to fulfil.

You can ask to be shown the higher purpose of your union and you can also request to see the timing of the contract.

Understand that no contract can be made to last longer that destined, however if the two souls are consenting and it is done by free will, you can form a new contract.

4.) Surrender to What Is

It can be difficult when one of you wants to leave and one of you wants to stay, however whatever the situation you have to honor the other person without judgements.

If your partner wants to leave, you must give them the space to do so and surrender to their needs without judgement.

If you are struggling to let go, visualise loving them and surrounding the situation with loving energy. Know and trust in their decision and their ability to choose what feels right to them.

You can also allow the Divine to step in to show you the way and to help you surrender to what is.

Letting go can be powerful and the more you allow that space, the more the healing can begin.

5.) Soulmates Come and Go

You have multiple soulmates, so just because this relationship is ending doesn’t mean you are forever doomed to never be with a soul mate again.

Sometimes we can get so infatuated with the idea of a soulmate that we can forget that sometimes they are not destined to be forever.

Soulmates are sent to challenge us to evolve into a higher state of consciousness and often it can become time to move on to the next state of consciousness when the work is done.

Remember, that there are always other soul mates out there and these soul mates are ready and open to receiving you when the time is right.

6.) Release Negative Emotions

It is almost inevitable that some negative emotions will arise when you are nearing the end of a relationship, especially if you are both feeling differently about the path ahead.

Know that having negative emotions towards each other or the situation is not helpful to anyone and will not help the healing process in anyway.

Call upon your angels or Spirit guides to help you release any fears, doubts, attachments and guilts that usually come with ending a relationship.

Ask to be guided to resolving the relationships end in a harmonious and healing way, and try to stay attuned to high-vibrational thoughts.

7.) Don’t Take it Personally

This may seem hard to do, but no matter the reason for the relationship ending, know that it is not personal- it is no one’s fault, it just is what it is.

Everyone has their own journey and their own process, therefore it is rarely anything to do with you personally that is causing the ending. It is more to do with where you are both at individually on your journey.

Especially when it comes to soulmate relationships, you both are just doing the best you can with what you know. Remembering this can help you bring healing and forgiveness to any pains you are experiencing.

If you are struggling with this energy, ask for clarity and guidance in how to move forward and perhaps even meditate upon how your partner may be feeling so you can come from a place of compassion and understanding.

8.) Follow the Signs

How do you know if you are really over? The Universe will be delivering you signs, and the more you can stay open and aware to them, the stronger they will be heard and felt.

You can ask the Divine to send you some guiding signs to allow you to know when it’s time to move forward. Trust in these signs and trust that you will be guided to know exactly what to do in each moment.

Chances are if you are both awakened, you will both be hearing and feeling the same signs. If this is not the case, don’t despair. Just trust in your own intuition and know that your partner will hear whatever messages they need to when the time is right.

9.) Closing the Door

Once the two of you have both agreed to go your separate ways, take some time to honor your soul connection and all the lessons that you learnt together.

It may not be possible at first to create a friendship, but there is no reason why you cannot reflect on all the good times you had and send gratitude to each others way.

Spend time to honour all that you learnt and surround your soulmate in love and guiding light, pray that they are happy on their new journey and truly hope for the best for them.

Ending a Soulmate relationship can be tricky, and often soulmates will go through multiple break ups before they fully can let go.

Trust and know that everything has a Divine timing, in the mean time following these 9 tools may lead you towards some understanding of how you can end a soulmate relationship consciously.

I’ve been married to my soulmate for 28 years, in this life time. We have many recalled prior lives together and our soulmateness feels profoundly singular. You are correct that it’s a huge growth opportunity. However, the concept of separating now that we found each other seems counter productive. We have ended the current relationship dynamics and phase many times during these 28 years and then establish a new relationship moving forward. And at the core of every relationship is our lifetimes of experience taking us to a new level in this lifetime. We are both crystal clear of the power of the opportunity that this lifetime has given us. We also remember the many times in the past that we didn’t stay together and the consequences of those times. Sometimes it was not a choice but the times it was were actually missed opportunities to go to the next level of awareness.

We continue to evolve and move towards a deeper connection with source through the opportunities this relationship provide. I highly recommend that unless the relationship lessons are so intense that they are life threatening, that anyone who is blessed to have truly found their soulmate find a way to stay with that person for as long as possible. Remember that the road is never straight and that sometimes it’s better to slow down to make it around the sharpest corners rather than fly off the road.

    Tanaaz –

Any idea how to prevent one’s soulmate from communing with one’s soul and continually reopening the wound?

I’ve tried many methods of releasing the connection (cutting etheric cords, various release ceremonies, reiki, intense meditation, asking my spirit guides to help me release it, same with her soul, working on surrendering and am even in traditional therapy, to name a few), yet my non-spiritually-awakened soulmate’s soul keeps reaching out and expressing immense levels of love, and doing so in intrusive fashion that makes my forward progression very hard. It’s much like a spiritual equivalent of a broadside from a naval flotilla.

She was the one who walked away, when her insecurities spun up into fears that caused her to be unable to stay, embrace the her heart’s feeling that we were meant to spend our lives together, and see a way forward to that. Oddly enough, this process is proving more challenging than moving forward after losing my Twin Flame two years ago, nor am I a newbie in moving on from other soulmate loses.

I naturally didn’t want the relationship to end, but respected her decision since it happened two months ago, and immediately started my process of healing and grieving, one that that has been honed over decades, and proven successful in helping me heal, while sending her light and love in her journey. I’ve also respected her space over that time and not contacted her, but am now contemplating if the Universe is telling me I need to reach out to her and ask her if she is unconsciously telling me she wants to try again…

Any thoughts would humbly and immensely be appreciated! Thank you.

      Try with zero expectation

This couldn’t have been more helpful. My soulmate relationship was/is phenomenal! I’ve learned so much from someone who I never expected to learn a thing from! He’s so much like me yet so different and as I begin to see the intensity in our relationship starting to dwindle, I couldn’t help but try to hang on for dear life. It seemed as though our falling out begun exactly as listed on this blog. We don’t hate each other, but for some reason we both sense that things are concluding. our first major fall out thrust me into a whole new stage of awareness/consciousness. And because he did that for me, it was hard for me to let go bc I felt he could teach me more! And although these last few months have been rocky I felt so sick for his love I was willing to stay and endure the pain. However I’m coming to realize that love isn’t pain. There are growing pains and that is what I have been experiencing. Spiritual growth at its finest and bc he helped me reach that I didn’t want to lose him. But I’ve also come to realize that plenty of people can spark that in you. It had been so long that I met anyone who was able to satisfy my soul as he did that I felt I never wanted to let it go, even when I knew we weren’t meant to be together forever. I know Source has my life partner ready and waiting for me. I need to be more trusting that everything works out for my higher good, even when I can’t see it right away. I’m struggling to let him go/ I love him and I know he loves me. Bt the time has come and the longer we stay together, the more risk I’m in to doing emotional damage to us both and reversing all the progress we made together. Much gratitude for this post.
