Venus, the planet of love, beauty and creativity is about to take a well needed rest after touring the skies with both Mars and Jupiter.
Venus will move into retrograde on July 25, 2015 and during this time she will be stopping any new developments in order to review and reassess the past.
Sweet Venus will be pulling up the weeds in her rose garden and pruning the thorns to ensure that all true, unconditional love can survive in all of our lives. Because she is going to be retrograding in the sign of Leo, fantasies, dramas, and ego are all likely to come crashing down in order to be sifted through and released.
Venus retrogrades approximately every 18 months, so while this cycle is not super rare there are some interesting planetary interplays that are going to really push love and relationships to the front and center.
This doesn’t necessarily just mean romantic love and relationships, in fact at a core level Venus retrograde is really going to be shining a light on our shadow selves and exposing where we have failed to love and nurture our own bodies, minds and souls.
If you are in a relationship it is likely that both parties will start to feel this on some level and perhaps some lingering thoughts, feelings and emotions surrounding the relationship will also be stirred.
This is an excellent time to get things out into the open, to discuss your deepest thoughts and feelings and to express your love and support for each other. However, Venus retrograde is not a good time to forge new commitments or start dating.
Remember, Venus is not supporting anything new, rather she is taking this period to work through making what is already present better and healthier.
If your relationship has been sour for some time and you have been feeling like it is time to move on, Venus may give you the push you have been looking for as she moves retrograde.
Often relationships that are no longer serving your higher purpose will be snipped from Venus’ garden in order to welcome in the new once she moves out of retrograde.
Venus will go direct on September 6, 2015 around the same time as Saturn will move into Sagittarius.
For those of you who have been following Saturn, he has also been travelling retrograde in the sign of Scorpio and will continue to do so until August 1st. Saturn has been forcing us all to dig deep, especially in our relationships and in ourselves in order to uncover our deepest truth.
Because these masculine (Saturn) and feminine (Venus) planets are both re-visiting the past, chances are things may feel quite heavy until September.
Venus and Saturn also have an important meeting on the 5th August, so stay tuned on this day to see what message these two planets have to deliver to you.
Uranus, the planet of innovation, opportunity and surprises is also going to move retrograde in the sign of Aries, shortly after Venus on July 26th. This may mean that an old lover may re-surface from the past or an old dynamic within an existing relationship may suddenly be bought to the surface.
Particularly watch the days around August 19th to see how Uranus and Venus will be working together in your life.
When Venus moves direct in early September, chances are you are going to feel a lot more grounded in your self, in your relationships and in what you truly desire.
Venus retrograde is an opportunity for us all to expose our shadow selves, to re-evaluate issues of dependency, self worth, self love and relationships.
She will also give us the opportunity to shed our egos, the drama and to discover what is blocking us from living up to our full, creative potential.
Venus will cause us all to shift, to question and to pull the weeds from our garden in order to plant the seeds that we really desire.
