Waning Gibbous and 9 of Cups
After the Full Moon, our next phase is the waning gibbous. The moon slowly lets go of its fullness and more of the darkness peeps through.
It is a time of investigating what is working and what is not. It is a time of releasing, of letting go any fixed patterns that have become unhealthy or destructive.
It is also time of replacing habits with something new. Learn a new way of doing things during this time. Try a fresh approach to an old pattern or do something in a different way.
For example, if you are trying to be more active, but are always avoiding the gym, try walking outside. This way you see natural beauty and breathe fresh air.
Whatever it is you are trying to change, a new routine will motivate you and switch up your perspective.
This is also a time of learning more about ourselves, stripping back our layers and seeing who we are inside. We start seeing how we are part of the larger world and are learning where we fit in. This idea connects perfectly to the message of the 9 of Cups.
The 9 of Cups, sometimes also referred to as Happiness, indicates an understanding that we are connected to all things. This understanding can lead to a deep level of emotional contentment.
This happiness is not about seeking more or wanting more. This is a card about knowing that everything is perfect just as it is. And yes, you can still work on yourself while knowing you are perfect in this moment.
This is a complex notion: to be accepting and joyful for exactly how things are while also striving to be healthier and more evolved.
The idea is that we don’t have to hate ourselves while trying to be better. We can love ourselves for who we are while continuing to work hard to grow.
I know there is so much we want to change and there is so much pain in the world. But through accepting the world and your connection to universe, you can stop grasping for something that is not there.
From here your own personal happiness, however that may look, can radiate out of you. This happiness, which you could also call contentment, can help you support others and yourself.
Through self love you feel called to evolve, not because you have to, not because something is wrong with you, but because you want to.
Stop thinking you need something or are missing something. Let go of the idea that when you get what you are missing you will be happy. When you do this, then you can truly be happy.
Mantra for the week: The understanding that we are all One brings me deep happiness and contentment. I evolve through self love and acceptance.
