Under the dark night of the Moon, we may feel restless and a little restricted, but bubbling underneath any heightened emotion is also a glimmer of a new beginning.
New Moons always represent the start of a new cycle, but being the first New Moon since the Eclipses we may feel this even more so.
As it falls in the sign of Cancer, our attention may also be drawn to our home and family, as well as matters of the heart and chest area.
To work with this energy, it is recommended to ground yourself and to think about ways you can take responsibility for your life just as it is right now.
How can you make the best of whatever has come your way?
To help support you through these energies and questioning, here is a soothing ritual to guide you. It focuses on returning to love and self-nourishment.
Cancer New Moon Ritual for Self-Love and Nourishment
This ritual is best done from July 17-27, 2020
You will need:
- Energy Cleansing tool of choice (dried herbs, incense, bells, etc.)
- Heart Drumming Meditation
- Pen and Paper
1.) Start by cleansing your aura and then your surroundings. As you cleanse your aura, feel free to recite the following-
“From the top of my head to the tips of my toes, I restore and recharge the energy field of my body. My aura is strengthened and restored. It shines like the rays of a million Suns. I radiate peace from inside my bones. Kindness shines through my smile and my eyes, and I am lifted and held by my inner divine. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”
As you cleanse your surroundings, recite the following-
“From corner to corner this room is cleansed of any and all energies that are no longer in accordance with my highest good. This space is now filled with love, peace, joy, healing, and abundance. May this space be forever protected and may all those who enter this space be blessed, myself included. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”
2.) Start your ritual with the Heart Drumming meditation. This is going to help strengthen your energy field and boost your vibration. It will also help you connect in with your body and soul.
3.) After your meditation, gaze at your reflection in the mirror. Look into your eyes. Really stare into your soul. See what comes up for you as you do this.
4.) After a few minutes, say something loving to yourself, just say what you feel in the moment. Be kind and supportive with your words. Give yourself a little pep-talk. Honor and recognize any pain you are feeling. Make sure your inner self feels heard.
5.) Sit with whatever emotions come up for you as you do this. When ready, stretch your arms and wrap them around yourself like you are giving yourself a hug. Hold yourself for a moment.
When ready, recite the following or feel free to say what you want in the moment-
“You are a loving, radiant, magnificent being. I know you have been through so much, and seen so much. I know you have so many obstacles you still feel you need to overcome. But you are doing just great. As my arms wrap around you, I am taking away your pain and your struggles. We are in this together, and I am here for you. I see you, I hear you, and I love you. We may not always show that to one another, but I am you, you are me, and we are in this as One. I will always be here for you. I will always be here to hold you no matter what. I don’t care if you get it wrong or right, I just trust and believe in you, and know that you will always get to where you need to be.”
6.) Now, take your pen and paper and write down 10 things you can do to be more loving and supportive towards yourself or what you can do to nourish and feed your mind, body, and soul. Place your list somewhere you can look at frequently throughout the lunar month.
Happy Cancer New Moon!
