The June Solstice falls on the 21st and is marked by the Sun’s move into the sign of Cancer. A few hours before the Solstice, Neptune also shifts into retrograde, which will help to color the energies of this year’s June Solstice.
We have two Solstices each year, one in June and the other in December. The Solstice occurs when the Sun appears to be “standing still” which creates either the longest day or the shortest day depending which hemisphere of the world you live in.
For those in the Northern Hemisphere, the June Solstice brings the longest day of the year, and for those in the Southern Hemisphere, the June Solstice brings the shortest day of the year.
The Sun’s journey is calculated to be 365 days. It is during this time that the Sun moves through the constellations and zodiac signs. Of course, the Sun is not really moving, but from our vantage point on Earth, we can watch the Sun to figure out the time and the seasons.
The June Solstice is the halfway point in the calendar year. It is the time of year where we are encouraged to think about our journey so far and where we are heading. It is our signpost that allows us to really feel and tap into what energies and lessons 2019 has been guiding us on.
2019 is a number 3 year in numerology, and the Solstice also happens to fall on a number 3 day giving us a gentle nudge and reminder of this vibration and the lessons it holds.
Having a number 3 year guides us to express ourselves, express our truth, and to think about balancing the three elements of who we are- our mind, body, and soul.
The June Solstice is also our reminder that if things are not going in the direction we desire, now would be the time to make some changes or pivot our direction as we move closer to the end of the year.
For guidance on this, we can look to nature for support and inspiration.
In the Northern Hemisphere, we begin the start of Summer. The energy in this part of the world shines outward and there is more fuel and motivation to be outside, to express yourself, and to take action.
In the Southern Hemisphere, we begin the start of Winter. The energy in this part of the world shines inward and there is more fuel and motivation to be reflective, to contemplate, and to retreat.
While these two energies do seem to be opposite, they are both working together in harmony to help us to bring balance to our lives.
Nature will be your guide in helping you to determine where you should be directing your energies and where you should be putting your focus.
With Neptune going retrograde just before the Solstice, it is also our opportunity to think about the reality we have created for ourselves.
Thoughts are powerful, and our thoughts can contribute to the shape of our reality. Under the energy of the June Solstice and with Neptune going retrograde, this is a great time to think about how your beliefs are contributing to the reality you live in.
Who do you want to be? What type of world do you want to live in?
Changing your thoughts to reflect the reality you wish to live in is not about deluding yourself, rather it is about consciously choosing how to see the world.
While there is some debate as to whether or not he really said this, Einstein has been famously quoted for saying – “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
Every day we get to make a choice whether we are creating a reality filled with stress, worry, and anxiety or whether we are creating a reality filled with hope, possibilities, and acceptance.
Of course, it is sometimes hard to view pain and tragedy as a miracle, and there are also days where it is natural for stress and anxiety to take hold, but what other areas of your life are easier to switch over to this mindset?
Sometimes starting with the smaller, everyday stuff can be far more powerful and productive the focusing on the bigger or more painful aspects of your life.
On this June Solstice, take a moment to think about how you can bring more positivity to your everyday routine. Tell yourself-“everything’s going to work out perfectly” a hundred times a day, and see how that helps to start shifting your reality.
2019 is halfway done but there is still plenty of time to make changes, to do things differently, and to look for the many miracles that have greeted you and will continue to greet you in the future.
