I want to call this August 9th Full Moon the Goddess Moon, as so many of the Goddess Asteroids are activated!
It seems that the Universe is asking us to step into our feminine power and to return to our maternal wisdom. It is asking us to activate our inner Goddess, rise up, speak up, and advocate for ourselves and others.
This powerful Goddess energy, coupled with the unique spark and spirit of Aquarius, will make the August Full Moon a healing one. We will be called to raise our vibration, relieve ourselves of any heavy weight, and step into our feminine wisdom.
August Full Moon: The Aquarius Goddess Full Moon
The Goddess asteroids on display under the Aquarius Full Moon include Chariklo, Ceres, Makemake, Black Moon Lilith, Vesta, and Juno. But the strongest influence comes from Chariklo, an asteroid considered the wife of Chiron and the Oracle of Spirit Medicine.
Chariklo holds strong healing energy, which will work with the energies of the Aquarius Full Moon to deliver healing vibrations straight into our hearts.
Chariklo helps to heal and restore our energetic body and rules over vibrational and plant medicines. Chariklo’s presence, along with all the other Goddess Asteroids, reveals that we can access healing and our power by tapping into the feminine and returning to the subtler frequencies of the body.
If your body feels it could use some rest and restoration, if you are feeling burnt out, know the cleansing energies of this Full Moon will heighten the effects of any vibrational medicines we may want to try. Attend a sound bath, take some flower essences or herbal elixirs, charge up your crystals and lay them on parts of your body that feel in need, go for a massage, walk the farmer’s market to soak up the vital force of all the beautiful fruits and vegetables, garden, paint, meditate, speak intentions to a glass of water before drinking it…there are so many ways to use our vibrational healing powers- we just have to trust in ourselves and open to the divine feminine wisdom that so many of us have forgotten.

There’s no wrong way to celebrate the energies of the Full Moon, so honor where you are right now. As Goddess wisdom says: let your intuition be your guide.
The Aquarius Full Moon and Lion’s Gate
One day before the August Full Moon peaks, we experience the Lion’s Gate Portal. This portal celebrates the rising of Sirius as it is reborn and returns to its position in our sky. The Full Moon’s proximity to the activation of the portal is significant and will heighten our abilities to manifest and recharge.
The Lion’s Gate Portal is a time when our spiritual energy is reborn. We are encouraged to step into our lion strength and to remember the wisdom of our ancestors passed. It is believed that when Sirius rises into the sky, lost information and technologies will slowly be revealed to us. This ancient wisdom has been forgotten, but it can return to our consciousness through the opening of this sacred portal.
If we are open, we too may experience some profound wisdom coming to light. We may feel a closer connection with our ancestry, or we may find ourselves revisiting past memories that allow us deeper insights into our inner workings and the stories that we have been carrying since childhood.
The Lion’s Gate Portal is a time of high-frequency energy when we can also access spirit realms with greater ease. We may find our dreams being more prophetic, or perhaps we may even notice signs and symbols coming from the Universe or our loved ones passed. If we are open to the divine synchronicities of the Universe, the Full Moon working in tandem with this portal will definitely deliver some inspiration our way.
The Aquarius Full Moon and Mercury Retrograde
Mercury is currently in Retrograde at the time of this Full Moon, so we may feel there are some loose ends that still need to be tied up. We may want to resolve and wrap things up, but there is still a process to move through.
While the independent and feisty spirit of Aquarius will want us to get things done, we have to practice patience. The combination of the Full Moon, Aquarius energy, and Mercury Retrograde may also have us communicating with a bit more bluntness or feeling the desire to just tell it like it is.
While honesty is valuable, it’s helpful to remember: “It’s better to be kind than to be right.” While proving a point can be very satisfying, sometimes leading with kindness serves us better. This doesn’t mean tolerating boundary violations or gaslighting, but rather choosing to let go of ego and focus on compassion when appropriate.
The Aquarius Full Moon: The Prelude to Eclipse Season
The Aquarius Full Moon is also the last Full Moon before Eclipse Season begins. The next Full Moon we have will be a Blood Moon Eclipse in the sign of Pisces.
Blood Moon Eclipses tend to bring sudden and abrupt endings and can stir difficult events that push us to change and transform.
Eclipse Season can sometimes make us feel nervous, and there are many negative omens and superstitions attached to Eclipse events.
But, it wasn’t always this way. This fear is rooted in patriarchal thinking. There was a time when these events were revered because we were more in touch with the rhythms and cycles of nature and could understand and foresee the bigger picture.
Kings feared Solar Eclipses, believing they could be dethroned. Yet, the wise understood that Eclipses are powerful portals for intention and manifestation, guiding us to where we’re meant to be. They can course correct, bring sudden changes, and yes, even dethrone leaders—but these are not to be feared.
We must embrace the cycles of nature, the natural law of death, rebirth, and the journey in between. The longer we stay in a place of fear, the less power we have. We have to return to our inner wisdom, our strength, our connection with nature, and the Divine Mother energy that runs through all living beings on this planet.
By coming back to our true nature, by remembering our magnificent soul, we connect with our power, ourselves, and the cycles of Mother Moon.
We don’t do it to achieve a goal or end purpose; we do it because that is who we are. We do it because it is part of our nature. We have been taught to chase an end goal, but this Full Moon and all of its Divine feminine wisdom is asking us to just be. We are enough.
Under the Aquarius Full Moon, you are invited to unlock the Goddess within. Whatever your relationship with Goddess energy is, use this lunar energy to deepen it. Expand its influence in your life and come back to nature. Nature is where it all began, where our ancestors first learnt their wisdom. Nature is how we move out of fear of these cosmic cycles and into being.
