Intuitive Astrology: Ceres

ceres astrology

Ceres is one of the largest asteroids in our solar system. Located between Mars and Jupiter, it was also one of the first asteroids to be discovered.

In astrology, Ceres is considered one of the five Goddess Asteroids, which include Pallas Athena, Juno, Lilith, Vesta, and of course Ceres.

Ceres represents nourishment, how we long to be nurtured, our relationship with our mother, and our connection to Mother Earth.

It is a highly feminine energy that also rules over things like fertility, farming, and agriculture.

Ceres is named after the Roman Goddess of grain and the harvest. She was responsible for the seasons, for teaching farmers how to grow crops, and for providing nourishment to all living things.

She was also considered the protector of change. She was called when a child went through puberty, during pregnancy, and when a soul was ready to depart from this world.

Ceres was considered the gatekeeper between one state of being and the next. It was her nourishment and nurturing that helped to soothe the process.

It is said that when Ceres is strong in our cosmic skies we can expect some form of transition between one state and the next, this may be seen in our own lives during our Ceres return, which occurs approximately every 4.5 years.

The energy of Ceres also reminds us of our potential to tap in to the energy of Mother Earth and her power to destroy, create, and provide for everything on this planet.

When we ground our energy into Mother Earth, we too can realize our potential to create, to destroy, and to provide.

The symbol used for Ceres is a sickle with a cross at the bottom. The sickle represents Ceres’ connection with harvesting. The cross is said to represent the four elements- earth, air, water, and fire.

The zodiac sign Ceres was in at the time of your birth can indicate how you long to be nurtured. When you are connected to this sense of nourishment, it helps to boost your creative powers, opens your heart, and allows you to be more in touch with those around you.
