February 2021 is one of the most intense months of the year. If it feels like you have heard this all before, that’s because you have! The astrology has been intense lately, but things will soon settle.
Intensity is seen in our cosmic skies when there is a lot of activity and chatter amongst the planets. It is also enhanced when we experience rare alignments.
February is a month that brings a lot of cosmic chatter and some rare alignments too. The major features of this month are the Aquarius Stellium, and the Saturn Square Uranus alignment.
The Aquarius Stellium is going to create a line up of cosmic energy in the tropical zodiac of Aquarius, concentrating the energy and getting us to hyperfocus on one area of our lives. We may feel drawn or pulled in one direction or drawn to fixate on a particular issue.
As stelliums are concentrated sources of energy, they can make us feel a little overwhelmed, but with our focus heightened, we can get things done, make headway on projects, and discover new information and insights that we may not have noticed before.
Stelliums are powerful, and it’s up to us to direct this power in the way of our choosing.
The Saturn Square Uranus alignment is also a highlight not just in February but all throughout the year. We have three of these alignments in total through 2021, and the first happens this month.
You can read more on the Saturn Square Uranus alignment here, but essentially we may see themes brewing at this time relating to change, rebellion, shocking information, and new innovations.
Saturn Square Uranus can also trigger extreme weather and highlight the state of the climate and our environment, which is in desperate need of our attention.
Another energy current we will be working with through the month is Mercury Retrograde.
Mercury enters retrograde a few times a year, so this in itself is not unusual, however with everything else we have going on, we will need to proceed slowly, take our time, and listen to the signs and clues that the Universe is sending our way.
If you do encounter delays or setbacks, know that while it may feel frustrating, there is always something to learn and a higher message to listen for.
Venus and Uranus are also going to be very active this month too, so add this to the Mercury Retrograde energies, and we may notice a focus on our relationships and old wounds of the heart.
While heart matters tend to be sensitive and make us feel vulnerable, there is an opportunity here to also receive closure, release resentments, and bring acceptance and forgiveness.

February is a month of intensity, but it also offers us the opportunity to get focused, to heal old heart wounds, and to keep our mind open to new innovations and new ways of looking at things.
Here are some of the key dates throughout the month:
February 2- 22 / Cross Quarter Day
Today gives us the numerology code of 22 and is also observed as a cross-quarter day, which is a pagan celebration honoring the eventual coming of a new season and the midway point between the Solstice and the Equinox. In numerology, 22 is a master number that represents building, establishing, and consolidating. Today is a good day to review, go over things, and make sure your foundation is strong before moving ahead on any projects or major decisions.
February 6- Venus square Uranus
This is a subtle energy, however along with the Mercury Retrograde energies, it may stir matters of the heart or bring old heart wounds back up to the surface for clearing. If you have any resentments or are struggling to let go of old hurts or relationships, this is a power day to release and seek the closure you need. February 8- Mercury Retrograde conjunct Sun
When a retrograde planet aligns with the Sun it is known as an Inferior Conjunction and signals a turning point in the retrograde cycle. Whatever hidden insights and information Mercury has been unearthing as it has traveled retrograde will now be revealed. This is a time of illumination and greater clarity. Seek the answers, as you may just find them.
February 11/12- Aquarius New Moon
The Aquarius Stellium is active for most of the month but it reaches its peak today as the Moon joins in the lineup of planets in Aquarius. This New Moon carries some strong Aquarian energy. Whatever manifests around this time is likely to set the tone as we move deeper into the Age of Aquarius energies. New Moons are always a time of new beginning and setting intentions, but with Mercury in Retrograde and the strong cosmic currents, it may be best to lay low and focus on resting and recharging. This is a good time to find ways to support your local community or volunteer/donate to humanitarian projects.
February 12- Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year begins and we enter the year of the Metal Ox. The Ox is a nourishing energy that indicates a focus towards practical and grounded self-care. The Ox is strong and dependable, and this year we need to find ways to be strong and dependable for ourselves. Of course, it also helps to have people around us that are strong and dependable when we need them too. This is a year for getting organized, and for putting in the hard work, as efforts created this year hold the promise of rewards and abundance.
February 17- Saturn Square Uranus
This major cosmic event for 2021 kicks off today however, it is likely we have already been feeling this energy brewing for some time. Uranus is the planet of change, rebellion, and awakening. Saturn is the planet of responsibility, authority, and boundaries. When it comes together in this tense square (90-degree angle) to Uranus, it creates volatility. Uranus wants freedom and to be rebellious, Saturn wants boundaries and to follow the rules. We could see this dynamic playing out in a number of ways. You can read more on this here.
February 18/19- Sun in Pisces
The Sun moves into Pisces on the 18/19 (depending on your time zone). This is the final season of the zodiac cycle, which means things are reaching a culmination point. Pisces is a water sign, so we may feel more connected to our emotions and extra sensitive during this time. We may also feel more reflective and ready to let go of the past in order to embrace the start of the new zodiac cycle, which begins on the March Equinox.
February 20- Mercury Direct
Mercury goes direct after being retrograde since January 30. Mercury will remain in Aquarius for the remainder of the month and will leave its post-retrograde shadow period by March 13, just in time of the March Equinox! Mercury Retrograde is often felt the strongest the day it starts and the day it ends, so give this planetary energy some breathing space and stay open to any signs and messages that come up. Remember, Mercury is the messenger of the Gods, and when it is in retrograde, it sources messages from your own inner “God”.
February 25- Venus leaves Aquarius
Venus leaves Aquarius for Pisces, slowly ending the intensity of the stellium and any heart matters that may have arisen from the past. We should start to feel a growing sense of relief as the tensions of the weeks past begin to settle.
February 27- Full Moon in Virgo
The Virgo Full Moon is the last of the astrological year and it carries some beautiful, empowering, and healing energies. It invites us to focus on nourishing our body and mind. We may feel drawn to do a cleanse or perhaps to clear the clutter of our environment. This sweet Full Moon should bring some ease and a reminder of just how powerful and strong we really are.
