July 2023 is a busy month with the Lunar Nodes changing signs and Venus stationing retrograde. All of this cosmic energy creates a turning point in the energy of our year. We may find ourselves needing more patience, and the desire to pause and reflect may grow.
With Venus in retrograde, matters of the heart may rise to our attention, and we may feel a spotlight shone on the relationships in our lives. There may be some challenging things that come into view, but we are also offered the opportunity for a deeper heart awakening.
There is the chance that July could feel a little heavy because of this, however, the Universe is here to lend its support and does offer some lighter vibrations too.
The Lunar Nodes changing signs is a good opportunity to celebrate any healing work you have completed over the last 18 months. You may also feel a natural sense of culmination or completion around this time.
The Sirius Gateway earlier in the month is also a high vibrational time that offers the opportunity for gratitude, awakenings, and healing.
With all of the cosmic energies flowing this month and the growing number of retrograde planets in our sky, July is a perfect time to go with the flow. Keep your expectations in check and try to just show up as your best self on any given day.

The Capricorn Full Moon reminds us that we can do hard things! This Full Moon will give us the motivation, determination, and drive to meet any challenges that we are currently facing. While there is some heavy energy around this Full Moon, we have the support of the Universe on our side to take any heaviness and overcome it. There is the opportunity here for great success if we rise up to any challenges that may come our way. The grounding vibrations of Capricorn will also remind us to bring stability into our lives, whether that is through creating boundaries, honoring a schedule, or just stepping up and taking more responsibility for our actions. Sirius is considered a highly important star across many different cultures. It holds an incredibly high vibration that is extra supercharged and on offer to us under this gateway. Sirius shines down freedom and intelligence and heightens our psychic energies. July 10- Mars in Virgo
The fiery planet of action, energy, and motivation moves into earthy, grounded, and healing Virgo. Mars in Virgo is fantastic for getting inspired about your health and well-being. The Cancer New Moon is a time to nourish our soul and to remember what is truly important to us. Cancer is a sensitive energy, but it is also an incredibly brave and courageous energy too. It takes courage to stand up for ourselves, to listen to our hearts, and to follow what feels good and pure to us. Under this Cancer New Moon, we may also feel a sense of fresh energy flowing in. This will be heightened due to the Lunar Nodes changing signs on the same day. We may feel a culmination of the lessons of the Lunar Nodes and a welcoming to a new beginning as they reach new signs of the zodiac. The Cancer New Moon also holds strong healing energy, allowing us to feel a little more at peace with whatever troubles are manifesting in our lives.
July 17- Lunar Nodes Change Signs
This is one of the biggest cosmic events of the year! The Lunar Nodes shift signs every 18 months, and determine what signs we will experience the Eclipses in. The Lunar Nodes are a mathematical point calculated between the Sun and Moon. In astrology, they are connected to our fate and our destiny. There is a North Lunar Node which is associated with our future and where we are heading, and a South Node, which is associated with our past and our past life experiences. For the last 18 months, the Lunar Nodes have been in Taurus and Scorpio, and each of us would have had lessons to master in this placement. Now the lessons have been completed, and the Nodes are shifting to Aries and Libra. The North Node will fall in Aries, and indicates as a collective where we should be putting our attention. With the North Node in Aries, we should be focused on moving forward, being independent, connecting with our fiery nature, and being our own unique trailblazers. The South Node will fall in Libra, and indicates as a collective what we need to build upon but also shift away from in order to keep growing. With the South Node in Libra, we are called to honor the partnerships we have created, how we have fought for justice, and how we have learned to cooperate. But it’s time to take this knowledge and shift towards more Aries themes. July 21- Sun Opposite Pluto
On June 11, Pluto moved back into Capricorn after being in Aquarius since March. With Pluto in Capricorn, it is now perfectly opposite the Cancer Sun. Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth, and it has been touring through Capricorn since 2008. This is a good opportunity to reflect back on any deaths and rebirths you have moved through since this time. Your life has obviously transformed since then, but who are you today? How are you different? This is a good chance to lean in and reflect on your metamorphosis process, especially around matters relating to how you hold your power, structures and establishments, and what makes you feel grounded.
July 22- Venus Retrograde
This is another big cosmic event of the year! Venus stations retrograde in the sign of Leo until September 3. Venus is the planet of love, relationships, beauty, money, and the things we value. As it stations retrograde, all of these topics rise up to the surface to be looked at and dealt with, especially if there are issues that need attending to. Venus in Leo is a fun, playful, and social energy, so while there is some hard work involved here, it hopefully will feel a little more lighthearted! Leo is a very heart-centered placement, so we can be almost certain that all of us will go through some sort of heart awakening during this period. In order to awaken and open our hearts on a deeper level, something will have to be cleansed and removed. We may have to make some hard decisions, or perhaps we may find ourselves moving through some painful realizations, especially when it comes to our relationships and how we choose to operate within them. July 22- Leo Season Begins
The Sun moves out of watery, sensitive Cancer into fiery, heart-driven Leo. As the Sun moves into Leo, we can expect to feel a little more energized and vibrant. We may feel more social and encouraged to lead with our hearts. While Leo Season does bring some fiery passion and inspiration our way, with Venus Retrograde on the same day, we may also be feeling a little sensitive, especially when it comes to our relationships. Our self-esteem may not feel the best, or we may find ourselves struggling with how we feel about someone. A conflict may even arise with another person that we find uncomfortable to deal with. Leo Season will light the way for us however, and will be a reminder to follow our own inner compass. Leo is connected to the light, and as long as we keep showing up for ourselves with our light burning bright, we will find our way.
July 23- Chiron Retrograde
Chiron, the asteroid known as the wounded healer, enters retrograde. Chiron is connected to our wounds and traumas. These are the types of wounds that run so deep they tend to stick with us forever, molding and changing the way we interact with the world. Chiron allows us to see our wounds as powerful portals of self-discovery and encourages us to find our inner healer, teacher, and guide through our own wounding. As Chiron stations retrograde, it can unearth wounds that we need to look over. Chiron does this so we can find the power they have to offer us.
July 27- Mercury in Leo Conjunct Retrograde Venus in Leo
Mercury and retrograde Venus come together in Leo. This alignment signifies a time to talk or have discussions with loved ones about things that are troubling you. There may be some healing that occurs through the words that are spoken. Alternatively, this would be a good day to journal and reflect on matters that are clouding your mind. You may just have a wave of clarity that follows.
