The King of Cups and Eight of Wands
This week we move into the sign of Virgo and we are feeling the shift in the air. We open ourselves to the new energy and allow the cards to share their nurturing guidance.
The King of Cups is a calm and loving card that shares an ancient wisdom with us. He sits on a throne surrounded by water. He closes his eyes to listen with his intuition, his dreams, and the sounds of the earth. He is a blend of watery sensitivity and earthly groundedness.
The sound of his breath when he closes his eyes is like the ocean, moving in and out on the sand. This card reminds us that our breath is always there for us as a comforting and transporting presence.
When we journey to the depth of the ocean, and of ourselves, we will find both treasures and darkness. This happens anytime we tune in with what we are really feeling.
The King of Cups teaches us not to hold on to any one feeling for too long. We should let them flow through us like water through rocks, knowing that everything is impermanent.
This card is also a model of generosity when it comes to sharing our love and energy. The King gives love without expecting anything in return. He doesn’t hold on too tightly or need constant reassurance, which could lead him to controlling those around him.
Instead, he gives away his love freely and trusts that what is meant for him will always come to him. He has patience in himself and the Universe.
The sign of Virgo can sometimes lack in trust and patience. The King of Cups his here to remind us to let go, have faith, and return to our breath.
The Eight of Wands embodies an exciting and fast-moving energy that we can often feel when we enter a new season. It points to the feeling of being sped up, where everything is evolving at a rapid pace.
Some of us may feel overwhelmed by this period of rapid movement. We may need to ground ourselves to stay calm and connected.
Warm tea, journaling, and connecting with friends are all great grounding activities. Doing a long mediation or some sort of physical movement are also ways to bring yourself back into your body.
It’s helpful to know it’s not all intense with the Eight of Wands. This card also aids in moving blockages. Obstacles will be pushed along by this quick and light energy.
We might feel like we can get into projects that were difficult for us just a few weeks ago. It could be that we have more time now or that we feel more inspired. Whatever the reason, you will encounter fresh insights and tasks will have newfound ease.
So, even if we feel preoccupied with the anxieties of the world, we can still move forward with the support of the Eight of Wands and the swift clarity it brings. It’s a reminder that we can have successes in our own lives, even when things feel heavy around us.
Sending you all so much love and appreciation in this moment. I continue to feel so grateful for this community during the challenges our world is facing.
Mantra for the week: I ground myself with my breath and tap into my faith. I welcome clear and fresh energy into my life.
