Strength and Judgement
This is a big week in the cosmos. We have Mercury in Retrograde starting from June 17 to July 12, the Solstice on June 20, and a New Moon Solar Eclipse that ushers in the start of Cancer season on June 20 and 21.
We feel both invigorated by the freshness of the Solstice and clouded by the uncertainty of Mercury in Retrograde. We are feeling both inspired and extremely sensitive during this time.
All this energy impacts our personal vibrations and the cards are here to share their wisdom and guidance. They help us navigate this time and give us the medicine we need.
Both the cards this week are Major Arcanas, which means the volume of their meaning is turned up and we are in a moment of heightened power. We are called to really pay attention to their message.
Judgment is the 20th card in the Major Arcana. This is a card about being pulled to change for the better. It’s about major awareness of ourselves and our place in the world.
When the Judgment card appears, it indicates that we can no longer see ourselves as a separate individual. We now see our connection to everyone around us.
The suffering of others is connected to our suffering. The happiness of others is connected to our happiness. When we open our minds and hearts to our interconnectedness, we are living in our true potential as humans.
The card shows an angel presenting us with a crossroad on her banner. As people, we have an opportunity to bring more love to the world or to turn away into ourselves.
The ‘judgment’ of this card is not about others but about ourselves. We are in need of some tough love in order to push ourselves.
The Judgment card wants us to do some reflecting and questioning. Are we doing our personal best? Is there more we can do to educate ourselves? Are there actions we can take today? How can we be better in this moment?
Take sometime this week to ask these questions. And if you are feeling overwhelmed by the answers, our next card is here to support us.
Strength is the 8th card in the Major Arcana. It is about feeling fearful or unsure about things but doing them anyway. It is about holding our worries and taming our inner lion through acceptance and love.
Strength is necessary to get through the intensity of the times we are living. We need strength to weather the ups and downs of a pandemic and to have the courage to be an anti-racist during this time of global awakening and uprising.
We understand that this is a marathon, not a sprint and we need fuel from our reserves to get us through. By creating inner respite through acceptance of our more turbulent emotions, we can feel energized to push forward.
The woman on the Strength card holds a regal stare. She looks towards her future with a tamed lion at her side. She is ready to take on what’s next.
She is not free of fear, but she has accepted her anxieties as part of herself. Her fear of inaction is greater than her fear of painful emotions.
The Strength card is here to call us to the same courage. It knows many of us are dealing with personal and public anxieties, but it wants to keep our goals in focus and continue to push forward.
Mantra for the week: I am deeply connected to all people. I show up with strength to support a more loving world.
