Nikki’s Weekly Tarot Reading: September 6- 12, 2021

Knight of Swords and Nine of Swords

We start this week with a New Moon in Virgo, calling us to connect with the wisdom of our bodies and do some healing work. Through the encouraging vibrations of the New Moon, we use the guidance of the cards to navigate the path ahead.

To understand how to work with these cards, we will need to first ask ourselves some questions:

Do you wake up in the morning with gratitude in your heart?

Do you look in the mirror and see how beautiful you are?

Do you appreciate all your talents and accept all your flaws? Or are you more likely to wake up and see the things that are going wrong? Look in the mirror and see what you don’t like about yourself?

And generally, see yourself from a deficit point of view?

If you are more on the negative side of things, the Nine of Swords sees you. It notices that you have been cruel to yourself and wants you to try to adjust this pattern. It’s here to remind you that this type of thinking is not solving any problems or making situations better.

When this card comes up, you must look to yourself and really see the nature of your thoughts. Take time to watch them in action, observe the words you use, and take note of their tone.

The Nine of Swords is a warning to the harshness of our own words and actions, both to ourselves and others. We need to be very aware of our behavior and see if we can shift the energy.

This is one of the darker cards in the tarot deck, so thankfully the Nine of Swords brought along a friend to help us, the Knight of Swords.

The Knight of Swords shares a light, swift energy that opens our minds and allows us to see clearly. He supports us in seeing the truth and gaining some much-needed perspective.

Often our cruel thinking is false thinking. We bring dark clouds where they need not be. The Knight of Swords allows us to see more objectively, without our own negativity or past pains coloring and blocking the view.

This card also allows us to accomplish tasks we have been putting off. These are the unfinished errands and projects that have been making us stressed out and only adding to our negative thoughts.

The elements of fire and air in this card give us a quick and powerful boost to get things done. It will even help you find solutions to problems that have felt too tricky or complicated to figure out.

Seeing ourselves more clearly and accomplishing some goals will really contribute to a more positive outlook. Sometimes a clean house, a fresh shower, or an organized inbox can be just the trick to adjust our mood.

Make use of this energy to shift your perspective to a more truthful and positive one. Allow it to help you think through some pesky problems and unexpected answers will come through, lightening your load.

Mantra for the week: I believe in my inherent goodness and loveability. The goals I set are easily accomplished.
