Scorpio New Moon Ritual for Shedding & Activating

You will need:

  • Aura cleansing tool of choice
  • Candle
  • Bowl of water
  • Pen and paper
  • Nature item of choice (See step 1 of directions)
  • Cosmic Astrology Oracle cards (optional)

Directions:

1.) To start off this ritual, go for a walk in nature. As you are walking, try to become present. Imagine that with each step you are kissing the earth with your feet. On your walk, choose one offering of nature to take back with you to use in your ritual. It can be a fallen leaf, a stone or rock, or a cup of rainwater. Just use your intuition to guide you. (You can also do this step 1-2 days before completing the rest of the ritual.)

2.) Bring your nature item back inside with you. Light a candle and have the rest of your ritual ingredients nearby.

3.) Begin by cleansing your aura first and then your space and ritual ingredients. As you cleanse your aura, recite the following-

“I cleanse and free myself of any burdens, blocks, or wounds that are holding me back. I ask that Mother Earth, Mother Moon, and Mother Nature work in synergy to help lift and support me on my journey. I ask for healing, I ask for release, I ask to receive in grace all that comes my way. I ask to be protected through the cycles of transformation so I may be reborn with ease. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

As you cleanse your surroundings, and ritual tools, recite the following-

“I cleanse the space around me, I cleanse and bless this room. The energy of this space is healed, the energy of this space is true. Only light and love fill this home. Only light and love dwell here. All that is dense, heavy, and untrue is now gone. I am renewed. This space is renewed. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

4.) Take your nature item and hold it in your hands. Close your eyes and see if you can connect to its energy or essence. See if you can connect to that part of yourself that felt drawn to choose this offering.

5.) Now, look at the item you have chosen and make a list of 3 feelings or qualities it evokes on a piece of paper. Don’t overthink it and just write the first things that come to your mind.

6.) Now, take a moment to look at what you have written and see how it may apply to your life at the moment. Are these feelings or qualities ones you need to bring into your life or remove? Is there some connection between what you wrote and what’s going on in your own life? Trust that the feelings/qualities you wrote are intuitive whispers from your heart, guiding you to look at a particular area of your life.

7.) Next, use the qualities/feelings you wrote as a prompt to begin journaling and getting your thoughts down on paper. You can choose to write as much or as little as you like, but the idea is to dig deep! Do this for all three feelings/qualities. Here is one example to guide you:

Nature object: leaf
Feelings/Quality it evokes: service
How it applies to my life: I am always trying to be of service to others but I feel I need to think about how I can also be of service to myself. Lately, I have been feeling guilty for how I handled a recent situation. I feel like I was trying to be of service to everyone and ended up being of service to no one…..etc., etc., etc.

8.) Now, reflect on what you have written and any emotions that have come up for you. Now, get ready to burn the papers. If needed, you can rip them into strips. When the papers get too hot, drop them into the bowl of water. As you burn the papers, recite the following three times, or feel free to say what you feel in the moment-

“Under the Scorpio New Moon, I honor the cycles of death and rebirth. I let whatever needs to come and I allow whatever needs to go. I do not clench with fear, I do not allow my heart to hold, I surrender, I accept, and I move through what is. May grace guide me, may fortune favor me, and no matter what struggles I face, may I rise.”

9.) Once all the papers are burnt, write down 1-2 leaps of faith you are going to take to move your life forward in the direction you wish. You can keep these papers on your altar or somewhere you can see them as a reminder.

10.) If you wish, pull a Cosmic Astrology Oracle card. Reflect on the messages that come up and how it can help you to shed or take your leap of faith.

Discard the water and papers as you see fit. Snuff out the candle and your ritual is complete.

Happy New Moon!
