On November 19-20, the Sun and Moon align in Scorpio, giving us the Scorpio New Moon. The New Moon brings the start of a new lunar cycle and a new beginning for all of us. If we have been holding on to painful emotions, struggles, and resentments, it’s time to let that all go and wipe the slate clean.
The Scorpio New Moon is our chance to begin again, try something new, and venture out of our comfort zone. It beckons us to look at things in a new way and to try something for the first time.
What have we been longing to do? What is something we have been putting off that we have always wanted to experience?
This New Moon invites us to a new beginning and a new experience, but we have to find the courage within to take the first step.
The Scorpio New Moon and Uranus, the planet of Awakening
Uranus, the planet of change and awakening, is activated by this New Moon, sending some erratic waves of energy our way. While this can feel a little unsettling, Uranus wants us to shake things up. It wants us to try something new and to embrace a deeper layer of authenticity.
If there is something we have been withholding, or something we have been too afraid to do or hear, this New Moon could rattle things for us and create enough tension where we are forced to take action.
Sometimes we need these cosmic pushes, and this New Moon is offering one. Of course, being pushed can always be confronting and hard to navigate, but we are promised an awakening on the other side.
Uranus can also sometimes stir surprising news and information that can catapult us to a new chapter of our story. If this is unfolding in your life under the New Moon, see if you can hold space to recognize that you are being guided to step forth into a new adventure and a new elevation of your soul journey.
Uranus and the Scorpio New Moon are also activating our feelings of security. If we don’t feel secure within ourselves, we may find that some changes need to be made. Just the same, something that felt secure may no longer seem as stable.
The ground beneath us may feel rocky, but as the energies settle, we will find ourselves creating a new sense of inner and outer security that is more authentic and aligned with the new road we are traveling.
The Scorpio New Moon and Mercury Retrograde
Mercury Retrograde is conjunct this November New Moon, which means its energy is woven into our experience. Mercury Retrograde is a powerful time for honoring our intuition and going back over the past.
Our past can leave us stuck and trapped, but it can also be a wise teacher. Under this New Moon, we are invited to revisit the past to see what we can do differently moving forward. We can learn from our past mistakes, but there may also be some information or insights from our past that we have ignored, glossed over, or weren’t ready to see.
Open your mind and heart under this New Moon and stay open to the possibilities. Try to quiet your own inner voice and really listen to what is unfolding around you. If you are unsure of how to proceed, give yourself permission to pause. When the veil of Mercury Retrograde lifts at the end of the month, things may seem a lot clearer.
Mercury Retrograde conjunct this Scorpio New Moon, is also our reminder to really trust our inner world and to venture within if we are feeling out of balance. The world around us is always loud, but when we get still with our inner world, that is when we can really connect within and find out what our mind, body, and soul are needing from us.
Set the intention under this New Moon to go within. Carve out time to listen to your body and check in with what it needs. This simple practice can be heightened by spending time in water (like in the shower, bath, or ocean), as Scorpio is a water sign.
The Scorpio New Moon and Transformation
The Scorpio New Moon is always a powerful time in our year to focus on transformation. We have all moved through many deaths and rebirths this year of varying sizes and intensities, but the Scorpio New Moon is always our reminder to honor what we have moved through and to find hope for where we are heading.
Since the last Scorpio New Moon back in November 2024, how have you transformed? How have you awakened into a new part of your being? And how can you find the hope for where you stand today?
Allow pride to swell in your chest as you reflect on the journey you have traveled. Even if you are not exactly where you want to be, there are bound to be glimmers that you can feel proud of. Life is not easy, but here you are, moving through it, learning, and bettering yourself, and that is always something to celebrate.
Scorpio is represented by the scorpion, a little creature that sheds its skin each year. As the Scorpion sheds its skin, it lets go of the old, and as the shedding is complete, it is reborn in a new skin.
This is our chance to shed our own skins and rebirth ourselves into newer, improved, and more authentic versions of ourselves. We are invited under the darkness of the New Moon to let the old go and to welcome a rebirth.
Shedding can be painful, but the more we embrace it, the more we can step with confidence into our new rebirth.
Find ways to rebirth yourself under the Scorpio New Moon, even if they are small. Let go of the fear and step into something new. The Universe is sending waves of support to guide you.
