December 21 is known as the darkest night of the soul and is a time when the veil between other worlds and dimensions is thinnest.
It is also the the Winter Solstice, a time where darkness gives way to the light.
The word Solstice translates to “sun stands still” and those in the Northern Hemisphere will experience the darkest day of the year.
It has long been believed that on this night, spirits would visit Earth in order to offer guidance and insights into the year ahead.
In ancient times and even today, sacred rituals are conducted in order to welcome in benevolent beings and any messages about the past, present or future.
Science tells us that when the lights are all off and the sun has set, receptors send messages to our adrenal, pituitary and pineal glands to calm our mind and to get us ready to enter the dream state.
The pineal gland also rules over our consciousness and when activated has the ability to help us awaken and transcend into a higher state of being.
Because the Winter Solstice is the darkest day of the year our minds, bodies and souls have more time to be in a heightened state of reflective awareness.
This allows us to not only receive psychic and intuitive messages but it also allows us to reflect deeply on the year gone by and where we want to focus our attention.
Those in the Southern Hemisphere will also be feeling a similar energy as the Sun will also move out of fiery Sagittarius and into the practical earth sign of Capricorn on this day.
This shift into Capricorn energy on December 21, is going to support digging deep within the soul in order to uncover and release past habits and beliefs.
Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, whose job is to awaken us to our fullest potential and help us to succeed at obtaining our goals, dreams and wishes.
Saturn energy will force us to face up to reality and to take responsibility for our lives and our actions and the only way we can do this is by going within and seeing our soul as it really is.
It is only through acknowledging the dark that we can truly appreciate the light and move forward in our lives onto bigger and better things.
It is only when we acknowledge and shed our ego that we can make way for our true self to step up and shine.
Capricorn energy is also going to require us to pay attention on building strength, both emotionally and physically and ensuring that we make goals that are actually worth our time.
With the Solstice and Sun’s move into Capricorn, we will all be guided to look back on 2015 and reflect on the time passed and where we are heading in the near future.
We are all going to be guided to dig deep within our souls and be comfortable with any dark spots that we may find.
We are all going to be guided to release any judgements we have on ourselves and make way for acceptance and peace.
If you would like to cement your goals, dreams and wishes and release the year passed on December 21, here are some easy to follow rituals.
