What is the Saturn Pluto Conjunction?
Every so often we have an alignment so special and rare it’s almost like we are forced to stop and take notice. One of these special alignments happens on January 12, 2020 and is the Saturn-Pluto Conjunction.
In astrology, a conjunction is simply the alignment of two planets at the exact same degree of the zodiac. Conjunctions happen all the time, it’s just that some are rarer than others.
On January 12, 2020, both Saturn and Pluto will align at 22 degrees of Capricorn, and although they will only come together once, their energy will create a ripple that will be felt the entire year and beyond.
Saturn and Pluto last aligned in 1982 in the sign of Libra, but this time in 2020, they align in Capricorn, which is something none of us alive today have experienced before or will again.
The rarity of Saturn and Pluto coming together in Capricorn makes it special, and an alignment that all astrologers and those sensitive to the cosmos are going to try and make sense of.

Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth. It wants to destroy things in order to create more power and more freedom. It wants to rise up, strong and powerful like a Phoenix from the ashes, but sometimes the things that rise up can be too domineering or power-hungry for their own good.
Saturn and Pluto are definitely darker planets on the surface, but if we look a little deeper we can see that their darkness serves a higher purpose that bursts forward a new light that is stronger than before.
On higher levels, Saturn is ambitious and knows how to set healthy boundaries in order to find success in life. It is hard-working, persistent, loyal, and will never let you down.
Saturn symbolizes strength and the willpower to go on, even when you are met with challenge after challenge.
Pluto is also the artist of transformation in our lives. It is the alchemy responsible for turning the caterpillar into a butterfly and helping us to transcend the lessons we learn in this life so we can fly higher.
Pluto also represents the highest transformation of them all, and that is the return to the love that we came from and the love that we are.
Whatever these two conjure up for us throughout 2020, it is certain that it will bring strong awakenings that will help to transform and shift us to new waves of consciousness.

On the highest vibration, Saturn and Pluto aligning would help us to shift to a place of unconditional love, where we would all be able to work hard, remain loyal to our cause, and to find our own definition of success.
We can very much tap into this energy and achieve this for ourselves in 2020 under these energies, but we are likely to see some of the shadow stuff playing out too.
Life is full of duality, and while Saturn and Pluto aligning does have gifts, it can also bring a breakdown and a need to completely reorganize or rebuild things.

Significant Dates to Watch in 2020
There are some significant and important dates to watch in regard to the Saturn-Pluto alignment because Jupiter also gets involved too!
Jupiter expands whatever planet it touches, so this Saturn-Pluto energy will be magnified even more.
1.) January 12th, 2020: Saturn-Pluto Conjunction
This is the day when Saturn and Pluto are perfectly conjunct each other at 22 degrees of Capricorn. This moment represents the start of a new cycle for both Saturn and Pluto which will continue for another 35-38 odd years. The day these two planets conjunct will be a day to watch but also a day where we may receive insights on what we need to break free from in order to claim more of our power.

2.) March 29th, 2020: Pluto-Jupiter Conjunction
On this day, Pluto conjuncts or aligns with Jupiter at 24 degrees of Capricorn. Jupiter will expand the energies of Pluto and really amplify what it is we need to transform in our lives and in the world in order to reach that next level of consciousness or evolution. This is also a time where are likely to see news around banking and the economy. On a personal level, we may also be thinking about our own finances at this time.
3.) April 24th- October 4th, 2020: Pluto Retrograde
On April 24, Pluto stations retrograde and will revisit some of the issues it stirred all the way back in October of 2019. If we missed anything the first time around or need further information about anything that unfolded since this time, we are likely to receive it during this retrograde period. Around the time Pluto goes retrograde (April 24) and then direct again (October 4) will be the most significant to watch.
4.) May 11th- September 29th, 2020: Saturn Retrograde
On May 11, Saturn who has now travelled out of Capricorn and into Aquarius stations retrograde. This means that we are also being encouraged to go back and revisit events since around September of 2019 and to gain more insights or information on the Saturn-Pluto conjunction that happened in January. The date Saturn goes retrograde (May 11th), the date Saturn re-enters Capricorn (July 1) and then goes direct again (September 29) will be the most significant dates to watch.
5.) June 30th, 2020: Retrograde Pluto-Retrograde Jupiter Conjunction
On this day, retrograde Jupiter is conjunct retrograde Pluto, stirring themes from March 2020. Whatever themes happened in March may present again in some way in order for us to learn more information or to work through more of the lessons. We will gain new insights and knowledge.
6.) November 12, 2020: Jupiter-Pluto Conjunction
On this day, Jupiter and Pluto conjunct again for the last time. This energy is extremely rare and will help to bring a closure to events that happened in March and June of 2020. Pluto and Jupiter working together may also leave gifts of abundance and help us to claim back our power in some way. They may also change the way we view abundance and money as well.
7.) December 21, 2020: Saturn-Jupiter Conjunction
On this day, Saturn conjuncts Jupiter in the sign of Aquarius. This symbolizes the rebuilding phase and anything that has not been able to withstand the year will get a fresh makeover. Saturn and Jupiter coming together in Aquarius is also a positive omen for technological advancements and a new way of doing things.
Even though these dates carry significance, we are likely not going to be able to fully understand the effects of the Saturn-Pluto Conjunction until 2020 has passed.
This is due to the slow-moving nature of the planets and the fact that very often they are working more on a subconscious level than on a conscious one.
The Saturn-Pluto conjunction is something that will not only shape 2020 but also the new decade to come, and will guide all of us rebirth in some way.
