Princess of Cups and Knight of Cups
With the start of Virgo season this week, we are grounding into our earthy side and wanting to heal from within. We are connecting to our bodies and letting go of our perfectionism.
The Princess and Knight of Cups channel this healing energy and warn us about being too focused and obsessive in our thoughts. They call us to take care of our three homes: our body, the earth, and our mind.
The Princess of Cups is a dreamer. She thinks about what she wants for herself and the world. She doesn’t restrict her heart and envisions the life she desires.
She represents the earthy part of water, where dreams become real. She helps you put plans to your desires and take concrete action steps. She wants you to stop just fantasizing about what you want and make it a reality.
The Princess of Cups is surrounded by a dolphin, a sea turtle, a lotus blossom, and a swan. She is soaking deep into the water. These creatures and elements are highly intuitive and creative. They are our totems as we dive deep into these energies.
The Princess of Cups tells us we are entering a more nurturing and creative time with ourselves. We feel protective of our own peace and want to nourish this energy in any way possible.
If there is a place or activity in our life where we feel calm and relaxed we will be especially drawn to it. We will look for ways to repeat peaceful practices as much as possible.
In this restorative place, we will be able to think clearly about what we wish for the most. We will be able to envision a future that reflects what is in our hearts. We will emerge with clarity on how to move forward.
Yoga, creating art, alone time, or any peaceful activity will feel right for us this week. We are craving these things and we should honor this need.
The Knight is reaching towards a heavenly chalice in the sky, a reference to the Holy Grail, and he is single-minded in his approach. His focus is strong and his energy is fierce. His wings rise him to his dreams and he reaches out to grab them.
But just like most stories of the Holy Grail, it is not an easy journey. There will be ups and downs and false roads. However, the Knight of Cups assures you that in the end, you will be successful.
What this card warns against is being too focused on one thing and wanting it to look a specific way. If we have tunnel vision, there is less room for the Universe to grow our dreams or send us things we didn’t think of.
If we are too narrow in our vision or want things to look perfect, we remove the chance for spontaneity or more creativity. So build your goals and dream but don’t forget to open your eyes to all the possibilities. It doesn’t always look exactly like we expected.
Mantra for the week: I am creating a peaceful and healing relationship with my body. I leave space for the Universe to bring me the highest and best.
