Haumea and Nessus
This week, we are working with a new deck from our own Tanaaz Chubb! The deck is called ‘Comsic Astrology Oracle,’ and it contains 50 beautiful holographic cards. We’ve pulled two cards for the upcoming week, and I can’t wait to explore their meanings.
Our first card is Haumea, Fertitlity Godess. This card represents a dwarf planet named after the Hawaiian Goddess of fertility and childbirth.
Tanaaz shares this about the card, “She represents Divine creation and the Oneness that is present in all living things. Haumea comes as a reminder that you hold the powers of creation within you.”
She symbolizes the Divine Mother and speaks to how mother energy shows up in your life. She also reminds me of a card in Tarot called ‘The Empress.’
The Empress speaks to a fertile, nurturing, and loving energy. She is about creating safety and nourishment for herself and those around her.
She evokes the themes of caring for ourselves, nurturing our bodies, and loving others, especially children. We are called to connect to this maternal energy and love our inner child as well as the children in our lives.
It might be hard to connect to this energy if it is not in our normal state. We might need the support of good friends or even a counselor to work through some blocks around self-love. But learning to cherish and love ourselves in the ways we deserve will be worth the effort.
From a place of love and safety, we can truly thrive. We can take more risks and be creative. We can live more fully. But without this foundation, we are only surviving, not thriving.
Allow the energy of Haumea to wash over you, and take steps to love yourself more deeply this week. Know that unconditional love is available to you, and the Universe accepts you just as you are.
Haumea wants us to love ourselves as we would a young child, treat ourselves with patience, kindness, and care, and be the parents we always needed.
This type of love is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. Through this work, we are creating a fertile soil from which we can flourish.
Our next card is called Nessus, Ancestral Healing. It is an asteroid connected to the parts of us that need to be brought into the light.
Tanaaz writes, “Nessus helps us to weed through wounding that has been passed down through the generations, especially wounds that are connected to oppression or being taken advantage of.”
This card reminds me of the Tarot card ‘Aeon’ in the Crowley Thoth deck, which also speaks to ancestral healing.
The Aeon card points to the ever-present child and adult energy that lives inside all of us. Similarly to the Empress, it calls us to connect to our inner child to create a healthy adult state. We are asked to love, forgive, and stand up for the little us.
We must heal some of our old wounds to believe we deserve the life we want. Take time to ask yourself: What hurt you when you were young? Can you grieve and release this energy? Can you let go of any guilt you hold on to? Can you show up for yourself in the ways that you always needed?
This card is a sign to work on the parts of yourself that need healing and to bring love and compassion to yourself. We often carry things from the past, not just in our lifetime but from previous generations. Trust that healing will happen when we surrender to divine timing.
The mantra of the week: I embrace my Divine Mother energy to heal and love the parts of myself that need it the most.
