The Page of Cups and The Emperor
With the end of the year right around the corner and many of us spending more time with our families, we can feel our emotions heightening.
We may be anxious about accomplishing everything on our lists, overwhelmed by the prospect of being with lots of people, or sad about the holidays in general.
The Page of Cups lets us know that we will experience a big wave of emotions this week and to be prepared. The more we are aware and accepting of the emotions coming, the more we can ride the wave.
The Page of Cups is an intuitive, sensitive, and creative soul that feels things deeply. They are the watery quality of air, bringing the mind and the heart together.
The Page will support us as we drop down below the chaos of our outer world this week. Through spending some intentional time in a quieter space, we can hear their guidance.
The Page of Cups is about awareness of our inner dialog. They help us connect what we want with what we think. They want us to notice how we talk to ourselves and what messages we are sending to the Universe.
If we want to be more accepting of our emotions but are hard on ourselves every time we feel something, we are not in alignment.
Notice how you talk to yourself when you cry. Do you say, ‘Here I go again I am SO emotional,’ or do you immediately start apologizing if you are around another person?
Listen to your inner dialog around your emotions this week and see if you can be kinder and more accepting. If we punish ourselves each time our feelings arise, we are not free to share and our feelings can get stuck.
When we become the observer of our thoughts, we remove ourselves from the negative loops. From there, we adjust our inner voice and match up our desires with our thoughts.
The Page of Cups supports awareness of the stories we tell. These stories are sending a powerful message and actually creating our reality. If we want our stories to change, we have to first hear them.
The Emperor is a card of strength and leadership. It is also an important card when it comes to boundaries.
Boundaries around the holiday times are especially important. But with the addition of the Page of Cups this week, they become even more crucial.
Boundaries are difficult for many of us. If the people that raised you did not model good boundaries, it can be extremely challenging to learn them later in life.
But the Emperor card is here to embolden and empower us when it comes to boundaries. They will help us say no when we need to and be clear with what we need.
The Emperor tells us that we can look to ourselves to lead. We are the leaders that will usher in the new way of being: a way of kindness, acceptance, and healthy boundaries.
You may feel selfish for saying no to things or removing yourself from situations if they feel too negative or intense. But in the end, the boundaries you create and enact will help you love those around you more.
Boundaries are an expression of self-love and self-care. And when we care for ourselves we are able to be there for others.
Don’t be afraid of your power. Embrace your leadership ability and step into that role. Though some might give you a heard time, most people will be impressed by your boundaries and want to follow your lead.
Mantra for the week: I am gentle with myself. I allow my emotions to flow freely. I set boundaries when needed.
