Nikki’s Weekly Tarot Reading: June 1-6, 2020

weekly tarot reading

The Hanged Man and 3 of Swords

There is immense heaviness in our world and our cards this week reflect that. We are facing the unknowns of the pandemic, our corrupt and racist systems (especially in the United States), plus all the personal pains we each carry.

Many of us have a hard time with this level of sadness and pain. However, when we accept these emotions we can use it to move to a more authentic and grounded place.

So, I am starting from a place of acceptance with these cards. Their messages may be difficult but the outcome is always about bringing us to a higher spiritual plane and a more evolved emotional state.

When we receive the 3 of Swords, the message is to look at the cards surrounding to find out what may bring us pain or sorrow. The surrounding cards are meant to prepare us for what is to come.

The Hanged Man is a card about total vulnerability. It is about accepting and giving in to our destiny. It can sometimes represent someone who has put off necessary changes for too long and is now scared to change.

It shows us the necessary process of surrender and sacrifice. This can come with a period of standing still or pausing when new concepts and ideas are being absorbed.

But once we have absorbed the new wisdom we need, we can emerge from our period of inactivity with wiser eyes. The Hanged Man presents us with an opportunity for self-development.

The Hanged Man also points out major roadblocks. It wants us to know that we have hit a dead end and we need to reevaluate what we are doing.

Something is not working. We cannot move forward in the direction we are faced, period.

This can be in many aspects of life. Whether a personal relationship, a job, a lifestyle, or the systems and structures of our world; something cannot move forward.

What comes to mind when you hear this? Take some time this week to think about your roadblocks. Whatever is your first thought is usually the right one.

Can we just move in a new direction or do we need to part ways? Can we adjust or do we need to let go and move on completely?

Letting go of parts of yourself, even negative parts, can be very painful. There is usually a grieving period, hence receiving the 3 of Swords.

The cards are asking you: what can you start to let go or change in order to be more healthy? How can you honor the letting go process and have compassion for yourself as you change?

You are capable of feeling sorrow and not letting it break you. You are strong enough to make hard choices. I believe in your ability to love more and give yourself and others more.

Mantra for the week: I allow myself to see differently and let go of what no longer works. I honor all of my emotions, especially grief and sorrow.
