Nine of Swords and Eight of Swords
We have a powerful week ahead as we enter Cancer Season and the Solstice. We will experience either the longest or shortest day of the year depending on our hemisphere. We are celebrating and reflecting on our journey and deepening our spiritual path. We have much to thankful for and a lot of opportunities for growth.
The cards we have this week push us to find clarity in our thinking and kindness for ourselves. They want us to be aware of any cruel or confusing thoughts we are currently holding on to.
Do you wake in the morning with a feeling of gratitude? Do you look in the mirror and see your strengths? Do you appreciate your talents and have compassion for your flaws?
Or are you more likely to wake up and see the things that are going wrong? Look in the mirror and see what you don’t like about yourself? And generally, see yourself from a deficit point of view?
The Nine of Swords wants us to be aware of the ways we talk to ourselves, our harsh criticisms, and negative loops. We must look at ourselves and really see the nature of our thoughts. Watch them, observe them, and take note of their tone.
This is a warning about the harshness of our words and actions and how they impact ourselves and others. We need to be aware of our behavior and try to make a shift.
The Nine of Swords is a heavy card, so thankfully the Eight of Swords brings us its supportive remedies this week. The Eight of Swords pushes us to open our minds and find mental calmness and clarity.
Often our cruel thinking is false thinking, we bring dark clouds where they need not be. The Eight Swords allows us to see more objectively, without our own negativity or past pains blocking the view.
Eight of Swords tells us that our current thinking is disrupting the natural flow of energy. We feel stuck and there is a block. This interference may be causing us to slow down, feel nervous, or lose focus.
The Eights of Swords wants us to check in with ourselves. Are the blocks coming from inside us? Do we feel tension physically or mentally? Or is it coming from outside us? Is someone blocking us from reaching our potential or adding toxic energy to our lives?
Spend some time thinking about your blocks this week. Back away from the places you feel stuck and instead focus on where things move with ease. Changing our focus will bring more positive and free-flowing energy into our lives.
Since Swords rule the mind and communication, try writing down your thoughts to find more clarity. Write what is overwhelming you, make a list of your plans, and journal your affirmations.
Using the written word to let out what is in your head will bring a much-needed release. Articulating what you feel and organizing your thoughts will be powerful tools for healing.
The Solstice will add special vibrations to any release work or intention setting. We can use this time to reflect on our thought patterns and negative self-talk. We can take steps to call in a kinder, more compassionate way of being.
Mantra for the week: I love myself and have compassion for my flaws. My mind is place of loving clarity.
The crystal pictured is Leopard Jasper. It helps to keep away negative energy while giving us strength and vitality. It helps us find stability when experiencing chaotic vibrations.
