Nine of Cups and Eight of Disks
This week, we have a Full Moon in Pisces on September 17/18, the start of Libra Season, and the Equinox on September 22. This week is shimmering with potential for transformative change, and the cards are poised to be our gentle yet powerful guides.
September 22 marks the halfway point in the astrological calendar until our March Equinox next year. Whether you are headed into Fall in the Northern Hemisphere or into Spring in the Southern, this transition is a sacred time when the veil between our physical and spiritual world is thin.
We see the shifts in the natural world around us and will experience the shifts inside of us as well. For the North, nature is releasing, letting go, and preparing for the winter. In the South, nature is opening up and blossoming. We can feel these higher vibrations and our cards are here to help us channel this energy.
Our first card is the Nine of Cups, also known as Happiness. This happiness is not attained through the accumulation of things or experiences. It’s about gaining a profound understanding of yourself and embracing who you are at a fundamental level.
This card is about understanding what you want in life and working hard to be the best version of yourself. It’s about accepting yourself while striving to be healthier and more evolved.
The Nine of Cups is about understanding our connection to all things. This understanding can lead to a deep level of emotional completion and compassion.
I know there is so much we want to change and so much pain in the world. But we can love ourselves for who we are while continuing to work on our growth.
When you cultivate a positive relationship with yourself and tend to your personal needs, you can also support others. With this understanding, your happiness will radiate out of you and shine on those around you.
When at peace with yourself, you are much kinder and more compassionate. This is not out of obligation but because you desire to show up in the best way possible.
This week, we are taking the time to go inside our hearts. We are learning who we are while pushing ourselves to grow.
Our second card is the Eight of Disks, which asks us to rest and build our reserves. The image on the card shows beautiful flowers protected by thorny leaves, which shield the flowers from the elements.
Because this is a Disk card, the message can speak to pausing our spending and building up our savings. However, on a deeper level, it is also about managing our material and spiritual energies to sustain whatever path we choose.
The Eight of Disks can also point to rapid spiritual development and growth. If we feel depleted, we will not have enough energy to move at our desired pace.
The card asks us: How can we protect our energy to move forward? How can we block the energy zappers in our lives? How can we focus on what makes us happy and strong?
Good boundaries are essential for staying balanced and meeting our needs. We are called to use our voices and, for some, step out of our comfort zones to let others know what works for us in order to move forward.
Mantra for the week: My strength grows as I safeguard my energy. When I love myself, I am more loving towards others.
